In Your Opinion - Biggest Story of Oh Nine

Big stories this year - the passing of Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Billy Mays, Brttany Murphy, the Tiger Woods scandal, the war in Afghanistan, the no more war in Iraq (you don't here about it anymore), the health care debate, Obama's presidency so far, my girl Mariah still married, me returning to the forum...
There are many other "big" stories in '09 - What's the biggest one in your opinion?

It's the same big story for me every year. Billions of people accepting delusion over reality and destroying the world.

The most important story is definitely the war. That always takes precedence. Anyone willing to go overseas and get shot at to protect my goofy ass deserves my profound respect and gratitude.

But the most shocking story of the year had to be Tiger, Tiger Woods ya'll. He was such a private person and had everyone believing that he lived his life by the book. It's amazing how one little incident can bring your whole world crashing down. We're never going to know what happened that early morning. But we can definitely see the ramifications of his behavior over the last few years. Money corrupts everyone. Even the seemingly invincible Tiger was not immune. I don't agree with his behavior off the course, but I'm still going to root for him when he's inside the ropes. He'll be back for The Open at St. Andrews. Mark it down.

^ :thumbsup: Nothing else even comes close, IMO. At the beginning of this year, the banking system was all but frozen and there was actual, legitimate concern that the world might be entering another Great Depression.

If Tiger Woods had gone apeshit and smothered Michael Jackson, Britney Spears and all of the Real House Whores of Orange County with Kim Kardashian's ass, it wouldn't have matched that as a top story. :2 cents:
