Important announcement regarding the future of this forum

A lot has changed in the adult entertainment industry in recent years—especially the growing legal requirement to verify the age of visitors from the UK and other jurisdictions. Implementing these measures is not only complex, but also expensive.

Unfortunately, the FreeOnes forums currently generate no revenue and cost us a significant amount to operate. With new legislation coming into effect, continuing to run the forums in their current form is no longer sustainable. We're left with two choices: shut them down entirely, or introduce a small monthly fee to help cover costs.

We've chosen to keep the forums open—but going forward they will be accessible only to paying members of FreeOnes.com. To make this more affordable, we're reducing the price of our Bronze membership tier to just $3/month.

We understand that this change won’t be welcomed by everyone, but it's the only viable option to keep the community alive while staying compliant with the law.

We're also in the process of making the rest of the site PG-13 compliant, which will allow us to adapt to new regulatory environments and better serve a broader audience.

We'll closely monitor how these changes are received and make adjustments as needed.

To upgrade to Bronze membership and continue enjoying forum access—plus additional benefits—please follow this link: https://www.freeones.com/premium

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

This is suicide for Freeones. Ultimately if most people decide to call it quits, and they will, it loses its appeal because the threads will be empty. A subscription only works if the footfall remains the same. At most you'll get revenue for a couple of months before they start to drop as people realise there's not many others here.
I hear ya. I paid to recover links from the threads I'm most active.

Next month payment? I highly doubt it.

Just block access to the UK and those other jurisdictions with a message telling them they can no longer access the site due to the new legislation. If they're smart, they'd get a VPN to bypass their government's restrictions so they can access the forums normally. Implement ads to help cover the forum costs.

A quick question about this - and I mean this with sincerity and no sarcasm - this is a porn site, correct?
Is there not an exception for adult/mature sites, given that the very core of the material is not PG-13? And what "broader audience" are you looking to serve? I assume you're not looking to introduce porn to minors, so I honestly don't see what other audience you are trying to reach.

This is self-destructive from any point of view. The only way this will be considered a good idea is because of the initial revenue generated by those who decide to stay. But in the short or medium term, those people who are paying subscriptions will be the only ones able to contribute material and topics. Then, the time will come when they themselves will get bored with the limited material available and the lack of immediate feedback, as we're used to.

If you scroll to the bottom there's a FAQ and one of the questions is "what will show up on my credit card statement?"

The answer is something discreet so you can make out that the payment was for whatever you want it to be.
I respectfully disagree with this payment option. We have seen enough breaches in our lifetime.. can't trust putting debit/credit card or reveal the true identity.
I hope the team had tried harder to find other alternatives rather this option. Looks like single-digit percentage of members will convert to paid.

Have you considered a carve out of the forums under a different name, detached from the main business? That way you can wash your hands in front of the payment processors and maintain good will among the community. Maybe some savvy users and moderators are willing to band together and do the spinoff. All those links at various sites like indexxx would have to be changed, but that's a small effort compared to the loss of so much information and work from decades.

I think that is going to be the option that most of the websites affected by the new regulations will opt for, in the same way as has been done previously with different regulations on ********, or we have seen with national TV channels which are not available abroad, for example.

$3/month is not a fortune, but unfortunately it can be a barrier not only to entry (I've only been here for a couple of weeks here and I'll have to think about whether it's worth staying) but for some old uses to stay also.

We will all be free once.
What can I say?

I guess the least I can do is to thank FreeOnes for all the hot years.

Not sure if I'm gonna stay though.
Which is a matter of 'principles' and also financial reasons.
In general, I think/fear that this is just the beginning.

Best wishes to the forum and all its (paying and non-paying) members.

I think the problem there is, blocking the UK, the USA and the EU (perhaps also Canada?) would **** off the majority of the forums traffic.
