Simple question: If you were on a jury, would you convict this guy if he finds and ***** this ***** who ****** his ***?

By definition of the law, he would most certainly have to be convicted. It's obviously premeditated :D

Seriously though, I would side with him but would charge him with a lesser crime. I don't agree with the death penalty (only on the grounds that if one innocent person is executed that is one too many to allow it) but if the killer can be up for parole, that's wrong.

From an emotional human point of view I would completely understand him wanting to **** his ***'s ******** (as most parents would) and he would be unlikely to reoffend. However the title of this thread is wrong as if it was understand that's one thing but 'convict' implies he will go though a legal process and in that sense we have to punish those who commit premedidated ****** and are of sane mind, my decision to convict or not will depend on the law of my country which is above all of us as many people have died to put those laws in place. We need these rules and laws to function as a society and sentences should be firm enough to punish criminals of the crime they've committed but let's be honest, the parent of a ******** ***** will never see the sentence as adequate and although the rest of us can emphasise with them we need that to take that into account. I don't think anyone in the UK would serve 29 years in jail for ******, some people spend less than 5

I have an audio response to that:

A crime like that, ******* a 5 year old ***** .........the killer should never be free again.
I do wonder why they even plea bargained him in the first place, was their case weak?

Either way some things are out of the bounds of what the court system can do or does and if this guy ***** his childs ******** i hope he's smart enough to do it without getting caught.

Look at it this way too, if someone doesn't take him out its a good chance he will **** another ***** as far as i'm concerned he lost all his rights when he ****** that boy, including police protection.

Frankly, if he just did it he could have a reasonable temp. insanity case. But announcing his intentions means he would be committing indefensible ******. In this case he is essentially saying it means more to him that his ***'s killer pay for his crime by death than his own freedom. Noble and upon doing it he should therefore he should turn himself in, confess to his crime then accept the punishment.

I would have no qualms with convicting him because I would imagine he would proudly serve his time for the crime. I would.

There is only one way a responsible person can go to jail and not lose self respect IMO. If in their mind they felt the greater crime was them doing nothing about a circumstance. In this case, he would be doing what he felt was right or necessary but the law would see it as premeditated ******. For that you go to jail (or prison) in the US (or you should). We have courts and a justice system for punishing criminals...the world isn't a better place with individuals taking the law into their own hands.

I would not blame him one bit, I would do the same. But as mentioned already, it is now premeditated.
He would have been better off saying nothing at all.

It is a good thing that courts in the western world are about correcting persons who committed crimes, not eye-for-an-eye as in barbaric countries or the dark ages.

(Sadly, I have to say, as the USA still perform the death sentence, they count among the 'barbaric countries)

Do people really want to do that routines of cutting hamds off thieves, ******* *********, castrate marriage breakers and rapers?

Hating, *******, hurting can't be the answer.

My advice: Go to the courts around your area and watch and witness how things go. I was a lay judge for some years, it changed my P.O.V. :2 cents:

What is this man really gonna be in society after spending damn near 30 fuckin' years in prison??? Are we not considering this? Seriously, he won't be any good to anyone or himself for that matter after being in for that long. Absolutely socially useless. Anybody in for over 20 years should, for their own and other good, never be released, IMO.

A sweeping generalization born of ignorance.

AGreed.

We may as well let the fucking Taliban rule America if we would allow public lynchings & the vigilantism I hear from the internet lynch mobs any time a criminal commits a hideous crime.

If you ****** my 5 year old 35 years ago & are arrested/sentenced you are society's problem & not mine. My *** is not coming back.

The guy is a retard for saying it & I guess he is hoping to sway the parole board who's probably not going to release the guy anyway.

The guy is due to be released in about 10 years or so anyway.

Like that state "terrorist" who plotted to **** Whites, Nelson Mandela, after he served for 27 years.

I am certain many people who have served long prison sentences have been more productive citizens on the outside than being taking care of by the State/taxpayers for life.

Hell I even know of a couple personally.

Well his number one mistake was to announce he was going to do it. You keep that kind of thing quiet. You still do it, but you keep quiet about it.

******?
I'd do the same, no doubt in my mind.

Would I announce it to the world? Fuck no. Keep it to yourself. I'd quite happily take jail time to avenge someone I lost.
