How to read the Bible?

I would say that there is no one right way to study the holy book.

Here is my method.

Open it random, read the text that comes out first and think about what you have just read.

I found this message today:

"Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free"

(John 8:32)

Amen

You should read one chapter of the bible then a chapter of Dr Seuss and alternate back and forth so you mix up your fiction and your brain doesn't get stuck.

Dr. Seuss was a fairy-tale writer and Jesus was and still is a real character.

"No one has ever seen God, the only God, who is at the ******'s side, he has made him known"

(John 17:3)

Why would you read the bible differently than any other book? Start on the first page and start reading. If you get past Genesis and think that it's real, you are one gullible sumbitch.

The Bible is not an ordinary book, its events do not necessarily proceed in logical order so it is difficult to read it the same way as common book.

People will find their own way to read it if the topic interests them.

She needs to focus on how to make her videos more interesting before she starts to tackle things like the Good Book .

OK, try it this way. Read a section and then go right to a section that contradicts the first part. For instance.

Genesis 1:31 God was pleased with his creation.
Genesis 6:5-6 God was not pleased with his creation.
Which raises the question, how can an omnipotent, omniscient God create something he’s not pleased with?

People had acted against his commandments and that is why he was disappointed.

People have been created to make decisions independently and often we do wrong deeds.

War is one of them.

OK, how about this one.

Ezekiel 18:20: The *** shall not bear the iniquity of the ******.
The penalty of sin is placed upon only the sinner, not the offspring.

Exodus 20:5: I the lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the ******** unto the third and fourth generation.
The penalty of sin affects generations.

Stupid double post!

This could still mean you are God, as you pointed out, he makes stupid mistakes, too.

The Fly reminds the potentially existing God (Jehova, in this case): Jesus is my wing man. Just take it easy. I can handle.

Nice! Another shot directed at what I do for a living. Sorry if my videos aren't up to your level of approval Zippy. I promise I'll try to do better. I'm filming at the original Crabby Bill's in Indian Rocks Beach later today. I'll be on my best behavior just for you.

Well the Bible is a controversial book.

Its main message is the Ten Commandments and it is enough if people understand their meaning and comply with them.
