How old is your dog?

I never had a dog die of old age, but my last cat did...most of my dogs were Dobies, the oldest lived to be 10 before getting killed. My heart always broke when my 4-legged friends and family died...puppies to geezers, a hardcore dog is a good friend.
I always had a Siamese cat to keep the Dobies in line...they did indeed seem to age better.

My oldest pup lived to the ripe age of 12... it was sad to see him go, semi accident, at least it was quick . The neighborhood dog back when I was a youngster was born a few years before me and lived to see 18. He could be nasty if you didn't know him.

I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback we adopted a year ago. The vet seemed to think she was about 1 and a half to 2 years old when we got her. Probably the smartest dog I've ever had. Learns commands and tricks all in one day and rarely forgets one from that point on.
