Never. I've spent less time in my entire life in church than you have creating polls.

I haven't been to church since I was 18. I'm Agnostic so you wont catch me back in one unless marriage calls me to be there.

The number of times I've gone to a church with something relevant to do there could probably be counted on one hand.
When visiting other countries, and especially big cities, I stop by them though. Like the Saint Peter's church in Rome or Notre Dame and such.

Going to masses and such isn't my cup of tea though.

Dixie, I don't know what you do for a living but my next statement does make some assumptions.

A porn star, and former youth leader, who now plies her trade in the sex business, saying that church is "messed up and corrupt" is not profound, funny, or "ironic". It is merely true.

Why would it be profound funny or ironic, I'm confused.

Very good point.

Very irregularly, I'd say 2-20 times a year. It has nothing to do with any negativity towards my religion - I simply hate meeting more than 3 people in person at the same time and what more, my laziness usually overcomes my religiousness (there is no church less than 10 minutes on foot from my home).

Some would say that it's a juxtaposition of societal norms when someone who has sex for a living would have the audacity to say that a church is corrupt and messed up. Granted, most of those people probably goodie two shoes bible thumpers that don't frequent a discussion board centered around pictures of people having sex. But I am and I honestly think that the entire institution of religion is messed up and corrupt.

No, that doesn't quite put it in strong enough words. More like "a completely vile concept championed by the critically insane."

Drawing general assumptions is just ignorant.
People look at religion and all they see is stupid sheeps gathering around for guidance because they don't have the intellect to create an own philosophy.

Religion has been used as an excuse to do political stuff for centuries. Today, when we're not really depending on it for anything, we have the luxury to just reject it. I agree that some aspects of religion, and especially christianity, are just incredibly retarded. But one shouldn't forget all the positive sides too. A lot of people find help and shelter in religion, be it company a sunday afternoon or the meaning of life.

It's so easy to just turn down all those things when we don't need them. But fact is that, at least here in Sweden, the church definitely helps more than it destroys. They're the only ones even remotely caring about the homeless or the lonely for example. I hold great admiration for those who actually care for people instead of just turning their back on them. I'm not saying I belong to that selected group of good people because I don't, but I won't deny the pros of having other means than just economic forces within society. And I'm not going to hold any of those people responsible for what some fundamentalists do.

That said I don't possess any form of belief myself, yet I refuse to say I'm an atheist. That word makes no sense as the belief in nothing is a belief itself. I'm agnostic. I do however approve of any form of good will.

Besides once where I went for my grandmother's funeral I have never been in a church as part of it's normal religious function, but I have physically stepped inside a church more often than just that.

Ok I got ya :) You use bigger words than me lol. Yea working in porn might make my opinion on the whole church thing seem biased. In truth tho, I've been on what the church calls, "both sides of the fence". I was raised to go to church and wanted to be a missionary growing up. I'm glad I saw the light before I dedicated my life to it. Everyone wants something to believe in, I think believing in yourself is the best thing you can do in this life.

Organized religion has problems, for sure, but I think "Spirituality" is a concept worth exploring. The moments of Deja Vu, instantaneous "coincidence" (like two people singing the same song at the same moment), why does one person possess a flair for aesthetics and another doesn't, Dreams...these kinds of things that might affect us all throughout our lives bear some thought.

I don't mind taking my mom to church or going to church with my family on holidays. I certainly don't practice religion anymore...
