How do you get to sleep?

Ace Boobtoucher

Founder and Captain of the Douchepatrol
Usually, crushing my enemies; seeing them driven before me and hearing the lamentation of their women is like counting sheep.

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
I fall asleep relatively easy, but a glass of red wine usually does the trick if I'm having trouble.

I also always, always fall asleep with the sleep timer set on the television. I need the noise in order to drift off. I'm not sure why that's the case, but I cannot fall asleep in a silent room.

I don't like brodkill mentioned earlier, it gets me.... really though. I know my schedules though as I've aged I get roughly 2.5-4.5 per daily & hit a monster crash once every two weeks. I've grown accustomed... if I need it I drink or I drink anyways :)D)... that or the bong.

I read a decent book. Usually something from World War II, they're the best in my opinion. :)
If I don't feel like reading, then I write in my black hardback medium sized notebook.
I write whatever I want on the pages, and it empties my mind of everything.

I watch LOTR, either with the cast commentary or the 4+ hours of bonus stuff. It's all quite interesting, but I usually fall asleep within 25 minutes.

^Oh yeah... playing a good rpg (Morrowind/Oblivion/etcetera) can work wonders too, particularly with a combination of my above remedy. :D

Torn & Frayed.
A 60/40 speedball........heavy on the smack.

Goodnight, folks...

Recently I've been playing around with binaural and isochronic beat meditation. It's interesting stuff for many reasons, but one of the most prominent effects is that of Delta wave beats. Turn those on and I'm out like a light in a matter of minutes, no matter how awake I was before. I highly recommend it to the insomniacs.

There's a free program called Sbagen (available here) if you're interested. Load it, put on a pair of headphones/ear buds (you must use some sort of headphone for binaural beats to work, because the effect is created by having two different sounds in each ear), and turn on the basic delta wave. There's a ton of free stuff out there relating to binaural beats, as well as a pay program call iDoser. Less stuff on isochronic beats (which are similar, but different), but a few good sites if you poke around.

i play this word game from the android market (free)on my phone every night. it gives you a certain amount of letters and you have to make as many words as possible with the allotted time...it makes me focus on the game instead of what i have on my mind or what i have to do the next day and it tiers me out...

I am a failure to the Korean side of my family
I read a bit, listen to a couple of podcasts, then fall asleep to my fan on, and some trance or ambient techno playing.
