horror movies

i just want to say i want the hour and a half or so that "the uninvited" took from me. what a shit storm...

this was a pretty decent film

I gotta say one of my fav horror movies in the Australian movie 'WOLF CREEK'. Its based on a true story but to fill in the gory details that they dont (yet) know about they used the serial killer techniques from our backpacker killing pyscho 'Ivan Milat'.

The main character played by John Jarret is fucking brilliant... he also did a kiddies program 'Playschool' but fuck me I will never look at him the same again!

I found the first 52 minutes of this movie to be a complete and utter borefest. Nothing happens. Nothing at all. They don't need 52 minutes to build up the storyline. But once it passes the 52 minute mark the movie gets started properly.

There is a Wolf Creek 2 coming soon by the way.

^^ he really was ahead of his time in his technique...

i first saw this movie just because kane was in it, but it turned out to be ok... and it was a sweet and sour moment when i saw mercedes mcnab topless. shes hot, but i instantly remembered her in the ADDAMS FAMILY... :uohs:

Sequels generally suck.... exceptions are Aliens, Terminator, Final Destination, Scream (not my type of movie) the 2nd Hostel was still pretty cool but Hostel III was shit!!!! Hopefully Australia doesnt embarrass itself with a really cruddy Wolf Creek sequel

Awww you're so sweet! :)

I didn't like that movie. I saw it in the theater and laughed most of the time.

wow... maybe i found it interesting because i saw it with my gf at the time camping... about 2 miles in any direction from anyone who could hear a scream...

some movies I liked in the past, Lifeforce (1985) and From Beyond (1986)

the only reason those were swept under the rug were because of the competition at the time... theyre still better than C.H.U.D. ;)

Then we have Jack!!! .... ;) :) ;) :) ;) :)

it is a classic. its jack being jack... i heard that king didnt like this movie, but i loved it.

in all fairness, it was their attempt to build a relationship with the characters... each country goes about it differently in their approach. sometimes its hard, but i have to think of that while watching films

What makes a horror? The Mothman Prophecies had some scare moments and definitely creeped me out after, but I wouldn't consider it a horror.

... excellent question. theres always a point where the line of genres merge. what makes ALIEN a horror, and 2001 a scifi? and is ALIENS considered an action film? what, aside from the gruesome murder scenes, seperates HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER from a love drama?... as in the famous words of christopher walken in the "its pat" sketch... "i am at a state of quandary... from which, i cannot return..." im about 3 seconds from michael ironsides fate in scanners...

The Uninvited is a remake of A Tale of Two Sisters, they have of course dumbed down the story something unbelievably so the americans can understand what is going on. It´s complete crap.
