Alright, judging by the number of pms I got yesterday I figured that curiosity had to be settled in my own thread.

Most of you know that I planned to ask my girlfriend of about 8 years(we first met in Jr. High) to marry me. And last night was the night I asked her, as kind of a last minute X-mas present.

Well......I caught her by surprise, as apparently she wasn't expecting it, but yet she was still excited. And YES, she said she would marry me.:lovecoupl :thumbsup:

Well, I am not going to congratulate you because I have no idea how healthy a relationship you two have.

Me: Nope. I have enough respect for AH (hope you/he does not mind the initials used sometimes), from what little I know of him to not patronize him by congratulating him on something I have no idea as to whether it will help his life or hurt it. I have been around ALOT longer then most of you. And far and away most marriages that I have seen have ended up in unhappiness for both parties.

But I will say that I am pleased that her response makes them both (apparently) feel good.
I am glad she did not hurt him by saying 'no'.
And he seems intelligent and self aware enough to not ask just anyone that.
