Happy 70th John!

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
It's past midnight in the UK so I'm posting this because (with all due respect to my good friend Stan Scratch), there isn't a bigger John Lennon fan on this board than I am. A giant among giants, his genius endures beyond the memories of those like me who actually had the privilege of growing up with his brilliant and revolutionary works. His contribution to the world of music cannot be overstated. I often wonder about what continued musical trails he would have blazed for ensuing generations of artists and music fans had he not been so tragically ****** when he was oh-so-young and still had so much more to offer us. As it is, his legacy is nonetheless enduring; an immortal inspiration to countless musicians yet today and will doubtless remain to those yet to be in the future.

Happy 70th birthday, John. Those of us who love you continue to mourn your untimely death and hold you in the highest esteem from both a musical and political standpoint. Rarely if ever has there been anyone who truly spoke for an entire generation the way you did.

Even today, as we celebrate the day of your birth, I cannot help but be filled with sadness as the day that you were taken away from us is so indelibly imprinted in my memory. I shall never forget that horrible day and I continue to deeply grieve to this day the loss of my good friend and icon of my generation, John Lennon.
