And I was sure that no one knew anything about Senator Ted Kennedy and even less about this accident but I was wrong

Personally, I came across this event a long time ago when I was reading a book about the history of the United States.
Whole books have been dedicated to this event. If you were reading a history of the US, then it would be no more than a sentence or two discussing why Ted was never president.

Speaking of derailed candidates, how about Samuel Burchard’s “Rum, Romanism, and Rebellion” comment costing Blaine the 1884 election?

To my recollection, the book dealt with the recent history of U.S. politics, not the entire history of the United States.

It appears that Samuel D. Burchard who was a church minister would have been a suitable person for the presidency of the United States.

Secondly, I'm not going to debate with someone who thinks that everyone who has non-right wing opinions on immigration is a "liberal". It just confirms to me that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, not that I needed that confirmation anyway.
I asked once for a definition of liberal (extreme):
An extreme liberal is a person who hates white people, Christians, Western countries and supports radical Islam.

I’m not a conservative myself, but my assessment is that they tolerate different points of view better than liberals.
You have really confused me now. I would have bet your next pay that you were not a liberal.
