Halo Reach

Yeah, right now Lt. Col. Grade 3 is the cap, but once the community collectively reaches 117 million daily and weekly challenges completed, they'll open it up. This is the only thing I could find about it though.
My buddy is going to let me borrow this sometime next month, is it as good as he says it is?
I completely overlooked ODST. However the more I read this thread the more I am thinking about getting Reach.
ODST is largely insignificant in the overall story, its more of a sidenote really just showing what happened planetside, so its really an optional thing. You wont lose anything by not playing it, put it that way.
I wont give you a list of reasons to play, play the game and you decide if it was worth it. I think you'll enjoy it, the single player is great and multiplayer is a much improved version of the tea bagging, halo jumping nonsense that ruined its predecessors!

I didn't particularly care for ODST to be frank, but I've quite enjoyed Reach. DOA pretty accurately sums it up.

How are you doing on firefight? Without the challenges, I score on average about 1,000 Cr's a game.
That's roughly what I average. My problem lately has been getting really shitty teammates that either:
1. Lag out immediately
or
2. Try to find the remote parts of the map and don't end up playing
Other than that, it's good for about 12-15,000 cR everyday.
I have been getting on gruntpocolypse on the score attack playlist and I average about 1500 cr every 10 minutes(15 if you count the time it takes to get to the Corvette map options) .

Hey DOA82, I no this is an old post but I'm a newb...I just wanna say I'm a big fan of Halo to, actually I only bought an xbox just for halo,,I needed a new FPS to play about a year ago- saw a trailer and heard people saying good things about it...and now I'm hooked. I even bought the books - The Flood, Fall of Reach, First Strike & Ghosts of Onyx..BTW even though people bagged "The Flood" book - I liked it...p.s sorry about the long & late post.
Heh, I remember the first pay cheque of my first job going towards the old black Xbox, I ended up going through a few of those before the xbox 360 came out.
The books are excellent, if anything they are the acknowledged canon for the game series. (The Flood is a pretty faithful adapation of the game to a book, you cant condense every inch of the halo CE game into one novel, the author did it justice!) Its actually the reach game that deviates from what we know and invites a few plot holes to the series, I wont mention those here, but Ive a few questions Id like answered. (In fact Ill list those later and the board here can brain storm!)
Im working through "Contact Harvest" just now, then I have about two - three more of the books to go through. Its a refreshng change to see they dont all involve the master chief. (Even though Ghosts of Onyx does seem to start with 150 of a new wave of spartans being wiped out in one attack!)

Thanks for that,...BTW do you remember at the end of Halo3 single-player campaign on Legendary, after the long credits - you see The Chiefs half of the ship head into the atmosphere of an unknown planet...I thought that was gonna tie into Ghosts of Onyx somehow....lol unless I'm mixing something else up.
