Pretty cool game but don't know why they went back to halo 1 with the health bars but who knows maybe they will change since it is just a beta release not the final version. But heres hopin they keep it similar to the last halo with shields and no health bars.

Halo Reach's new Forge extension entitled... Forge World.

They will have recreations from maps of Halo 1, 2, and probably 3. So insane how large it is.

For starters, there are tons of features and modes to play.

Campaign (co-op)
FireFight (co-op FF, Versus Mode FF, and both have Matchmaking so you can play with anybody)
Forge World (see above)
Custom games
Standard Matchmaking that includes Arena, Invasion, Big Team Battle, etc.

No other FPS in this console genre carries as much firepower and action in one game.

So many idiots and all of the guns are underpowered to do well alone.

Dude, hate to break it to you, but there's idiots in every game. And the guns in the beta weren't underpowered, WTF? If you like one hit kills or "real war" shooters, play COD with its glitchy shit or try a better war-styled game, like Battlefield. Halo is a completely different machine from those games.

this is truly a game that has a much different feel imo. The gameplay is probably the most drastic change since Halo 2...which is a long awaited welcome....

Halo=Halo 3=ODST = different stories, but mainly just re skinned gameplay...

this REACH has got me excited again about the Halo series...

Given the end result of the games you mention, overselling through the trailer sets up the final product for a larger fall if it fails to deliver. Underselling it at leasts leaves us with the chance to be dazzled and surprised, to often trailers show far to much. Ive ignored every demo and small scale trailer since it was announced. I'm happy to remain largely ignorant of the finl product until I pop that sealed package.

That wasn't necessarily the "final" campaign trailer, I'm sure. Gives us a bigger glimpse of things, however.

DOA has a nice idea going, though I'm the opposite. While it may somewhat spoil the campaign a little, I still love watching trailers or ViDocs.

FarCry Predator and FarCry 2 so perhaps i get this but not at day-one .

The videos about the map editor perhaps changed my mind about getting this game.

the features of the map editor are the things which will perhaps lead me to this choice.

I didnt see a thread for it anywhere, so I thought I would start one off.

I saw the new trailer for it today and it confused me a little. Looks like Noble Team isn't part of the master chiefs original group. They appear to be the Spartan III program, which is a bit of a disapointment since the book "Fall of Reach" and "First Strike" explore what happened to the ground forces of the chiefs team that were sent down to protect the planets assets.

Aside from the dose of uber geekiness on my part, what does everyone else think about it?

Who's to say M. Chief doesn't make an appearance at a critical point in the game and brings those goosebumps everybody wants from a Halo game. Wouldn't that be great? You get balls deep into this new group of characters and their story and boom M. Chief comes out and dick slaps the game out of the park?
