I dunno but they gotta do something to take the spotlight away from harmonix. To many people have already jumped ship and gone to rockband completely abandoning the guitar hero series for good. Most of my friends included. Now they just talk shit about GH when I talk shit about rockband. I dunno why they think harmonix made GH when it was a joint effort between harmonix and activision. Neither company would be shit without the other.

Rock band/Harmonix = Knows that you dont scare away NEW PLAYERS with insane difficulties, lame cutscenes and they didnt take four games to get the hint that you need MORE INSTRUMENTS! MORE MULTIPLAYER MADNESS!

Guitar Hero/Activision = Have no idea where they're going with the series. I dont trust them with it, personally. Count me in as a GH4 rental-only.

Activision obviously doesn't target new players. Harmonix is much more family friendly. I guess you could say. Activison was all about the guitar. When Harmonix broke off and came out with RB, they realized they couldn't compete any more by making a game that revolves solely around the guitar part. They had to step it up and add drums and a mic. They did that and in the process one upped the drum part, IMVHO!

I'm glad to see they didn't let up on the challenge aspect. If your new to the music rythem genre, thats fine, play the game on easy. Don't ruin the whole game for the rest of us who've been playing since the first GH came out! I think activision did that very well! On easy the whole game is a cake walk for a new player but on expert its still a challenge even for those who've mastered it! But if you've mastered GH then you'll fall asleep playing RB.

I think the part about these two that makes me most angry is the division they've created between players. I really don't like the fact that Guitar Hero and Rock Band players go back and forth about which game is harder. Honestly I found both of them challenging, and I've been playing guitar for upwards of 10 years and drums for 15. For me it had nothing to do with the difficulty of the song, it's just my eyes have a hard time recognizing all of the notes in time, but that may just be age. Guitar Hero was difficult for me too, although I thought that some of those songs were just rediculous. I appreciate a challenge in gaming as much as anyone, but it got to the point where it just wasn't all that much fun for me. I understand some people love the ability to say they beat Guitar Hero III on expert, but to me, it's all a matter of personal taste. What's hard for me may be a breeze for someone else.

Like cartman here. He's beaten it on expert and even beaten through fire and flames on expert. I can't get through the damn intro.

For me its like you said personal taste. I prefer GH but not just because of the difficulty but also because I like the way the game plays and feels over rockband.

I always have liked the way Guitar Hero has looked interface wise over Rock Band. And like I said, those notes that are big and round in Guitar Hero are tiny slivers on Rock Band, and my eyes sometimes can't follow Rock Band well enough.

My biggest bitch about Rock Band above the playability, is the fact that its harder to pick out the HO/PO sections. They never were labeled before GHIII but now that they are labeled by adding a glow or whatever to the note, I'm hooked! RB's are just slightly shorter than a regular note. Even still you have to be dead on perfect to get it right.

Maybe I just suck and I find GH much more forgiving and hence more fun that RB.

Yeah it took me a long time to adjust to that in Rock Band, and I still have issues going back and forth.

And it's funny because I always thought Rock Band was more forgiving (at least the way I play) than Guitar Hero.

Oh yea, can't wait for rockband 2. Its exactly the same game as rockband 1 they've already said that. The only difference is the games that ship on the disc. And a few other minor things I don't give a shit about.

On a side note, I am SOOOOOO dissapointed that the rumored setlist was a fraud. It was perfect .

I saw some youtube vids of the new DLC. I decided to save my money, cause I already know I won't get through those songs on expert. I'm sure hard will be hard enough. They do look and sound like fun though!

Oh yea, I saw that list on another website. Michael Jackson, WTF? That song has a short 20 second guitar part and the rest of the song is just shit. But Angel of Death would be god damn near impossible on the drums!

Regardless its the best of the fake lists I've seen!

That list is sweet. I'd love to play Rammstein on GH or RB. Though Feuer Frei isn't the best song for it... Hopefully they'll have some songs for dlc.

yo i think you lost the point i was making there is a lot of people out there that want to play guitar hence guitar hero selling loads, but Guitar Rising (chech out the website ) http://www.guitarrising.com/ is the same thing but with a real guitar that teach you how to play !! so as i said before why play a toy when you can play the real thing (or at least learn)
and yeah legz as allways makes a good point partys but dude i get the real thing out at a party (i am not great still learn) but it a good way to strip panties of female party goers. ha ha

oh and by the way i love guitar hero !! all of them so far. not played rock band but will give it a go if i get chance !!
