I am just now getting into the GH series with GH III being my first game. GH 3 was loads of fun and still is. I will be buying 4 when it comes out. I hope they add some AC/DC to the list of songs, that would be sweet.
just been playing Rock Band over a friends house... I like the idea of it, as a "real-life" guitarist I tend to stay away from the 5 fret wonder that comes with it and concentrated on drums - they're pretty cool but I much prefer the look of Guitar Hero IV with the cymbals raised above the others rather than lumped in as another generic pad.

Can you say lawsuit? Seriously looks A LOT like rock band, but whatever, I guess its the only way you could get all 4 parts on one screen. Anyway looks very crisp and clean unlike RB's cobbled up bullshit of a game!

Looks just like it like you said, but with Guitar Hero's much better engine, so it should be a lot more fun. Hopefully they don't kill the difficulty like Rock Band's though.
I seriously doubt that! I will confess the RB2 track list is much better this time around.

I know this is in vain, but I'd would love it if Activision made this game affordable. The thing that killed my desire to get Rock Band was the price tag. I ended up buying it from a buddy after he got tired of it. But this game looks absolutely amazing, and I would basically swear off any Guitar Hero competitor if they just made it affordable.

I already swore off GH competitors. RB just isn't as much fun to play as GH. But at least both GH:WT and RB2 are gonna be priced similarly so that won't be a factor with picking one over the other!
For those of you who for some reason love RB, watch the drum video in my link above! That alone should be enough to warrant buying this over RB2.
Personally I don't understand why activision and harmonix don't just get back together and make one killer fuckin game. Then just pump out the DLC for the next few years! Say till the next consoles come out and make a new game for those.
I agree. The whole breakup of the original Guitar Hero team was really a dumb thing.
I personally like Rock Band, but I will admit I'm pretty sure this is going to blow it out of the water. I was a drummer in high school and have played on and off since, and I just love the direction the peripherals are going for the drums. And like I said, if the price is right (I'm hoping, and probably to no avail) that it'll be less than $100 I'll be all over this the day it's out.
I am really surprised by how difficult Hot For The Teacher looks. That makes me happy, but I am still kind of sad that the chances of instrumental songs in it are low. I want Nottingham Lace (Buckethead) Damnit!

I doubt it. The set list in the past has been a nice mix of bullshit with songs I actually like. GHII had the worst set list thus far. Hot for teacher does look pretty damn challenging! Gives me hope for the other songs on that game. I hear there will be about 80 that ship on the disk!!!!!!
As for your instrumental songs...give it time my friend, give it time. You heard about the song creation tool? You can edit the guitars parts and the drums as well as throw in some keyboard effects if you want. But you can't edit the vocal tracks. Trust me, once people figure out how to use that thing, they will be putting out instrumental tracks that match instrumental tracks that you like almost perfectly! All available to download for free from what I've heard!
I hear ya! Don't forget some more fuckin Pantera! Haven't heard them on this game since the first one, they are way over due! I'm thinking Cemetery Gates! Metallica's new album will be available to download for play with GHIII simultaneously with the albums release in september!!! And then again for GH:WT

I knew it would be, however I was really hoping that they'd try to undercut Harmonix and the Rock Band crew price wise. Unfortunately I understand why it's so expensive, however I was hoping for Activision to stand out in that way.
