Darkside of the Moon

Momentry Lapse of Reason

Because its just about the music not any internal strife , they still traded under the name Pink Floyd without him & I think both of them brought something good to there music

David Gilmour plays guitar solos. Roger Waters writes music and lyrics that say something about what it means to be a human being on this planet.

I've seen both Waters and Gilmour solo. Of course, they both play lots of Pink Floyd songs, and they both have a different, unique sound. However, the one that I used to compare the song that they both used to close their show: Comfortably Numb. Waters had more fanfare and more visual effects than Gilmour (that's saying something right there), but Gilmour's version had more feeling and was more "Pink Floyd" than Waters'.

Darkside. . . If I was stranded on a desert island with the option to choose one album to listen to for the rest of my time on earth, and the means to listen to it. . . Darkside.

I prefer their early experimental albums, Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Saucerful of Secrets. Not sure why those arent on here.

Already answered that , because I didnt think most people on this board would be old enough to know them :hatsoff:

I voted for DOTM. I prefer Division Bell over any other album, for some damn reason I don't know why. I just like the album. Wish you were here was the first album I bought of theirs though, and it is a good album.

Dark Side of the Moon is their best album. The songs in it have a very deep message and the way that all the sound effects, instruments and the singing is mixed together makes a unique sound that not too many other albums have.

It's a toss up for me between Dark Side of the Moon, and The Wall. Both albums are epic and I keep playing them over and over. If I had to chose 1 though, The Wall would get my vote. The Wall the Movie is totally awesome too, and it gives a nod to Dark Side of the Moon too.

I agree with the results of the poll so far - Dark Side of the Moon was far and away the best Pink Floyd album, followed by Wish You Were Here

I am, a HUGE fan of Pink Floyd, them being my second favorite band ever, under Led Zeppelin.

I have noticed that you have left a few albums off.

Obscured by Clouds
A Saucerful of Secrets
Soundtrack from the fiml More
Piper at the gates of dawn (Debut)

Were all not listed. IMO, my favorite album is either a tie between Obscured or DSOTM. However, I voted for Meddle, as I have been listening to it a lot lately.

The new sound that was introduced with Obscured really helped the band move into the DSOTM/The Wall sound and helped them progress from the psych-pop they WERE in with Barret and early Gilmour.

Most people who are sort of... new to PF pin their best at DSOTM. If it weren't for Obscured by Clouds, DSOTM wouldn't be what it is. The progressive/soft rock came with Obscured.
DSOTM is a GREAT album, I am not downing it any way, it just got most record sales, mainly because of Money, Us and Them, and Brain Damage.

Meddle also paved the way for DSOTM, with Echoes. Echoes pretty much defined the PF sound for the band. That, mysterious, subtle, yet moving and progressive sound that they have.

That's just my opinion. Lyrically and lengthwise, my favorite album would be Animals.
