Darth Vader is the best Villain ever. Final

For Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back, you might have an argument. But he whimped out at the end of Return of the Jedi. And the greatest villain ever isn't somebody who whimps out.

I agree with the Hannibal Lecter fans. He was smart enough to mess with people's minds, but he could also destroy people physically. He acted alone. And not only did he escape a maximum security prison, but he got out of the country. Then he did what a true villain does - exact revenge on his most hated adversary.

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
From "Star Wars" I will go with Darth Maul being much more of a bad ass than Vader. Maul would have been a great recurring character.

Bruce the Shark from Jaws was a pretty cool villian

Maul's got style and he's extremly lethal but but he's just Sidious' minion.
Vador is his own master. Officially, he's a minion as well but in fact, he often goes rogue.

Darth Vader is the best Villain ever. Final

While I would love to agree, the problem with Vader as the greatest villain is that he turned good again before he died so that he could get some sort of redemption for his actions.A true villain, imo,is one who isn't looking for any redemption in any way.

Mine are,in no particular order,

Bill The Butcher (Gangs Of New York)
Longshanks (Braveheart)
The Joker (The Dark Knight)
Billy Darley (Death Sentence)
