Maybe I'm the bad person here for feeling that the Tens of thousands +(at least) would have been better spent helping multiple children, not just one. What to really help a child? How about taking some of those funds and help them out with expensive treatments many families cannot afford? Their is a big difference between going to Disney World and having an entire city block shut down while you ride around in a Lamborgini. And why was taxpayer funded police helicopters and personnel used? I'm glad the GOV has all this surplus taxpayer money to blow on nothing when their are so many more important things those funds could have been allocated for such as school upgrades just to name one.
Not every
one can do every
thing. Make a Wish specifically does things to help kids with terminal illnesses fulfill dreams that they would otherwise not have been able to fulfill. You want free medical care for kids with burns, spinal injuries, or severe disfigurement? Try the
Shriners Hospitals. They provide completely free medical care for any of the conditions I mentioned for kids under the age of 18 regardless of the family's financial ability. They not only treat kids, but they provide counseling both for the kid and the family on how to deal with the condition and how to live life with the aftermath of it.
