One of the coolest things about the Ultimate Edition is the inclusion of the "Unearthing the Legend" documentary. It's great for people who have never played the first two (although if you haven't then shame on you) because it goes into great detail about the story and events of God of War and it has historians, writers, and the game developers themselves talking about Greek Mythology and how the themes of God of War are in line with classic myths. One more cool thing, it's narrated by Peter "Robocop" Weller.
Its ashame but you're right. For some reason the 360 exclusives aren't even close as polished as pretty much all of the ps3 ones. The closest one is Mass effect2. I dont understand, there's no doubt Mass effect2 is a AAA title. It makes me sometimes wish I still had my 360. But I hear that it has some technical problems with it that just shouldn't be there. No excuse.
Even though I've had the game since yesterday I haven't gotten a chance to play it because I was dealing with the soundtrack download code issues that everybody with the Ultimate Edition has had. Finally got them to download but I was tired by the end of it (by the way, I noticed that on the main menu screen for the Ultimate Edition it actually says Ultimate Edition under God of War). Anyway I fire this game up today and Holy Fucking Shit it's the best looking game I've ever seen and the gameplay is even more fluid than the first two, God of War III is the reason I own a PS3. It's... so... beautiful!:crying:
I wish the replica Pandora's Box that I got was a little bit bigger so that I could put the first two PS2 games inside but I've got them as bookends for the box. What I may end up doing is eventually getting the God of War Collection (when it's on sale) and I'll put that inside with God of War III and the PS2 versions standing as the bookends.

yep! Pretty cool fight too. The claws are basically like the normal blades only blue in color. I've not messed with em enough yet though.
Well it's made out of plastic which is to be expected but it's pretty cool compared to the batarang that came with Batman: Arkham Asylum. The detail is pretty sweet, the only thing I wish is that it was colorful. It's a light tan color while the in game version was sort of brown or brass with orange. It's big enough to fit a couple of PS3 games but I'm only using it for GOW and the art book that came with it. I wish that Sony had given us CD's for the Trilogy Soundtracks and the Blood & Metal EP but Sony's too damn cheap and gave us download codes. Same thing with the sweet documentary, I would've preferred a [nobabe]blu[/nobabe]-ray rather than the code. Overall though, I think the Ultimate Edition was well worth the price and I'm glad I was able to pre-order through BestBuy before they ran out. Everyone else was already sold out when I pre-ordered last month.
this game is totally insane!!! Really a spectacle. A review I read, forget who it was IGN.com maybe, said that the graphics throughout the whole game are insane but there's some areas where they aren't very hot. I beg to differ. Everything I'm seeing in the game top to bottom looks perfect to me:dunno:

yea that was IGN's reviewer that said that. I've not seen anything less than perfection myself.

i also beat it but getting out of Hera's waterfall maze was tough.
I gotta be honest,I was really thinking about trading in FFXIII for GOW 3 until I read that you guys beat it already.How many total hours of gameplay was it?Seems that through all of the great reviews,it's kinda short and almost not worth the $60 retail.
I'm not done with it yet, but I know that it is indeed alittle on the short side. However, its well worth the $60. Unless you try to get it Gfly or something but good luck getting one from them...
Come on dude, you've played the other games. You know it's like 8 to 10 hours. I'm not done with it yet (I've just met Aphrodite) but I've got to say this game has some epic boss battles.

around 8 hours or so yea. Its still worth the 60 bucks. I for one don't have the patience for long games like the FF games anymore. I'm playing FFXIII off and on. But I can't get into it and knowing that it'll most likely take 40 hours to beat, gives me even less motivation to stay with the game. GoWIII is about the graphics and the epicness of the whole thing. Not about some 90 hour bullshit story that I'll get bored with after just a few hours. I lost intrest in FF13 after the first hour and it hasn't picked up since. GoW3 may be short, but at least it hold my attention the entire time!
I'll take short and sweet over long and dull any time!!!
i still haven't beaten GOW3 yet and my play time is around 9 hrs and 35mins, or so, while playing on medium difficulty.
i'm not a big fan of games that are really long either ...there's too many good games out there that i want to play instead of wasting 40 hours on just one.
that is unless the 40 hour game is stellar ...but i'd never waste that much time on an average game.

FINALLY.... finally played about an 1hr30min. last night ...
god i miss playing this game. good thing i have the GOW collection for PS3.
now what do i do with my GoW & GoWII versions for the PS2? im trying to clean up/organize my shelf of games. do i even need the PS2 versions anymore? and should i trade them in or Ebay them?
