The name Greenland comes from Scandinavian settlers. In the Icelandic sagas, it is said that Norwegian-born Erik the Red was exiled from Iceland for murder. He, along with his extended family and thralls, set out in ships to find the land that was rumoured to be to the northwest. After settling there, he named the land Grœnland ("Greenland") in the hope that the pleasant name would attract settlers.[40][41] Greenland was also called Gruntland ("Ground-land") and Engronelant (or Engroneland) on early maps. From 2400 BC to 1300 BC the Independence I culture existed in northern Greenland. It was a part of the Arctic small tool tradition.

I'm impressed by the amount of good sense presented there. Global science done by actual scientists, not talking heads or former important political figures have documented a rise in temp. Is it because of people? Maybe yes, maybe no. It doesn't matter either way. But if the temp gets high enough, plenty of folks world-wide will be truly fucked when the coast line gets driven back a few miles inland due to a decreasing icecap on either side. If we can slow the delta-T we can improve our odds of accomodating what the earth is currently trending towards. Politics should have nothing to do with it.
And yes, earth will survive with or without out us. But we could try to be decent tenants while we're here.

Tell me how the progressives and liberals benefit from promoting some bogus global-warming theory. Well, with record low temperatures all over the place, right now down in south Texas at about 32 in the day time(!) I guess global warming is over!

You do know that one of the effects of global warming was a change in the gulf stream. As well as the apocalyptic melting of ice caps. You do realise that such a thing would cause changes in natural climate and in said scenario of ice caps melt it might just be hot enough to gradually melt them but it sure isnt hot. What that means you got cold prevailing winds and shit going everywhere else as well as a disastrous rise in water.
what I do know as well is that UK is experiencing a cold snap the likes it hasnt seen in 30 years, expecting another 2 weeks of it too and if it lasts longer I bet it be eventually stated its the worse one we've ever had. Global warming doesnt necessarily mean warmer sunny climate for everyone especially in my locale

Not from the beginning it didn't mean extreme weather ! Only after the weather trends shifted, care of nature, was global warming morphed into ''climate change". Climate is not and has never been static, therefore it is subject to fluctuation.
