I'll try and help you out here. The reason why so many men worry about it, is because it is a macho thing, a reason why its also called your "manhood". It is a primal part of the brain were men want to be the alpha male, it could be tallest, strongest or in this case well endowed. This is pretty much me in a nutshell. She's right, the majority of male stars are not very big. There are few that are large that seem to show up in every movie, but the majority of male stars are average. I'm not going to sermonize on the plight of men in the era of political correctness & sexual harassment suits, but I do think it can be hard for guys to strike a balance between exuding confidence and being "cocky" (pun, or rather, literal meaning intended). Even apart from any feelings of insecurity or significant hereditary advantages (e.g., good looks or a schlong the size of a Pringles can), men probably fail to sweep women off their feet for lack of self-confidence as often as they are criticized for being over-confident, because the middle-ground between them isn't an easy space to occupy. Besides, if a girl's going to tell a guy he's big, she's more than likely going to do it before or during sex. You know, just to keep his confidence level (and the rest of him) up.
