I've always done variants on the 6-12 rep range from volume to one set to failure but I've always been told that anything more was for "endurance." But after a lower back injury a few years ago, and let's face it, advancing age, I can no longer just throw up weights with abandon. I just started doing a 15 rep routine where if I don't get to 15, I pause for 5 seconds then keep going until I get to 15. It only takes 2 sets at most before I'm smoked and shaking.
So this guy convinced me. It had nothing to do with his physique which has more to do with the obvious but it was his power of persuasion.
It started with "when I was in prison" then with "engorging and swelling it up and opening up that fascia" (fuck yeah) "and you tearing it at the same muthafuckin time" (of course). And having to have "20 inches or better" to comment on his video just added to his legitimacy.
And the coup de grace: "You ain't never did a show ... so shut the fuck up, high reps aren't just for steroid users."
cool muthafuckin story bro
