Gawd, My Cat Is Being Such A PAIN IN THE ASS!

Animal Planet once helped me identify the breed of cat she is...and then I promptly forgot it. But she is entirely snow white, she has a subtle lions ruff (which makes her even more adorable) and she has tufts of fur between her paws. In other words, she's bred for winter. She's about 12 1/2 years old and acts 12 weeks old. Anyway, with the yearly nosedive in temperature that happens here in the desert, Jeebus, the little attention grabber won't fuckin' leave me alone. This tends to happen this time of year anyway, but shit, she is completely out of control. She's pawing at me while I'm at the computer, she's waiting for me when I'm in the bathroom, she's demanding that I lie down a 100 times a day so she can sit on my chest and purr. My kingdom for a tranquilizer gun!

Mind you, I'm playing along. I have been ruminating that she is mortal like the rest of us and the worst day of my life is now closer than farther away. And I mean that. She came to me right in the middle of a dark time in my life and I credit her with getting my head screwed back on and being mindful that my decisions/actions will now affect her. Trust me, I wouldn't have pulled it off by myself. But 10 minutes, that's all I ask for, 10 fuckin' minutes.

Now if you'll pardon me, her majesty is calling.....insistently.

I like cats. Just adopted 2 Orange Tabby kittens(brother and sister) and now they're 6 months old. Very well behaved and so cheerful I'm not sure if they know how to hiss. Always like any toy I give them and eat every bite of food put in front of them.

I've always been a dog person; their loyalty is unmatched. But cats, they definitely love you, just in their own way.

There's something about watching lions/cheetahs/panthers prowling the Serengeti and knowing you have that running around in your living room and purring in your bed, just to a less deadly extent (though they could still claw/gnaw on your jugular while you sleep if they wanted to).

I've got an elderly cat but she's like me, she doesn't act her age. And she's spoiled rotten. This is depressing as the pet burial thread but when it's her time to go I can take comfort knowing she's lived a full life and had the most love a cat could hope for.

We have two cats. Got them both within the last year. They're pretty rowdy, so I put up the Christmas tree today with just a couple ornaments on the lowest branches. I'm fully expecting that I'll hear those ornaments hit the floor at some point tonight. Waiting to decorate fully until tomorrow, just to have an idea of what to expect.

I had this older dog. He was slowing down. I got a puppy of the same breed and it really recharged his batteries being around something so youthful and energetic. It was the best present I ever gave him. A best friend. You ever think of getting a kitten for similar reasons?

As far as prowling the Serengeti, I have very sadistic feral cats that patrol my backyard for vermin. Very good employees of mine and I feed them well.

That's actually what I've been considering. We've got two cats, the younger one being about 6 years old. But adding a kitten to the mix would be a good thing I think. Especially for me when that time comes. Fuck, I hate saying goodbye.

You Might buy you and your buddy some more time together. My dog was so happy to get a new companion. He was 125 lbs and I got 13 years out of him. Good luck with the 6 year old cat too. Both cats will be curious and fascinated by the new kitten.

Maybe go to a shelter and see how you feel. By making an addition from there you are also saving a life. That was half the fun of adopting my 2.

When I saw the title of this thread, I was going to suggest a smaller mammal for your "fun." Glad I read some of the posts before responding.

 I love all you animal lovers. My brownie points may not mean anything to y'all, but you all get them anyway.

Your cat sounds adorable! I agree with Maley, pics please!! :) I say my youngest dog is annoying, but I love how attached to me she is...

My cat also joins me during the winter months. He doesn't care if I shit.

Hey... my dog does the same thing.. but she's not as tiny and adorable. :|

If I could have a cat, I would have an orange tabby cat! They are my favorite!!

Mayhem, my dog will make little oinking/grunting noises until I invite her up on my bed. She likes to sleep on me. Her favorite place is my head.

Haha I love you, Lucy!

And btw ANYTHING I can (and ever will) get from you, even if it's just brownie points, will always mean a lot to me!

knows petras secret: she farted.
i got two tort sisters from the same litter. ones a blue and cream dilute, shes as sweet and could possibly be.

the other, shes a true black tortoiseshell. shes extremely vocal and crazy.

some say colouration has nothing to do with personality or attitude. bullshit. black torts are rambunctious and blues are almost always chill as fuck.

My cat is completely mental. She's about 15. I now have to leave a pint glass full of water on my bedside table because she has decided she likes drinking from it, and I put my own water somewhere else.

We have discovered this morning that she has gone deaf. Sadly this means I will now never again be able to send her into an excited tizz just by saying "FISSSSSH" in her presence. Although, it does explain why she is not scared of the hoover. I just thought she was badass.

Really cute pictures, Lucy. Great Bull Terrier as well. He looks like a real ham in the last shot.
