Fuck the Broncos!

Yeah, silly Denver. They acquired arguably the greatest QB in NFL history, the only 4-time NFL MVP, a former Super Bowl MVP winner, a man who ranks second or third in every major passing statistical category. Peyton has been a pillar of the community, the face of Indianapolis and the Colts franchise, and a man who has his own children's hospital. And he won't just be regular Peyton this year. He'll be angry Peyton. Eager to prove that he can still play at the highest level. A man who will be more focused on winning than ever before in his career. When the Broncos make the playoffs this year it will be because of their QB and not in spite of him.

Tim Tebow is mediocre on his best day. He's more well know for praying on the field to invisible deities than he is for his prowess and performance on the football field. He's a marketing tool. Tebow is lucky to even be in the league. He'll never be successful in the NFL. He seems like a great guy off the field, but he just doesn't have the tools to compete in this league.

Peyton Manning was a great quarterback, but the problem is that nobody knows if he will be able to hold up. He has had four neck operations, and that's not good when you play a sport as violent as NFL football. He may or may not be able to play at the level he used to.

Regarding Tim Tebow, just tell the Steelers how mediocre he is. He sliced and diced them up in the playoffs last year. Also, don't try to tell anyone that Tebow didn't play a big part in Denver's playoff appearance last year. They went 1-4 with Kyle Orton under center, and it was Tebow who got them back on track through tough play and great leadership. The defense certainly deserves credit for their success as well, but as I said, the same defense went 1-4 before Tebow was inserted in the line up on offense.

Furthermore, the 2011 season was Tebow's first year as a starter. How did Terry Bradshaw and Troy Aikman do in their first year as a starter? They are both in the Hall of Fame now, and neither one of them can touch Tebow when it comes to leadership and other intangibles. If I were building a franchise I would take Tebow over either one of them.

It's been a minute since I've been here, but I gotta jump in. I can't blame Denver for going after the biggest fish. I can blame them for not working with Tim Tebow, who played well despite a management who never wanted him at all. People keep saying he's mediocre, but his numbers and results say otherwise.

Given that he has yet to play a full season, consider this: In his statistically worst year, this past year, totaled 12 passing TD's and 6 rushing. That's 18 TD's total in 11 games. Give him the extra 5 games and he would've passed for 18 and rushed 8, which would give him 26 total, and a playoff win with unarguably the worst team there. Also consider how many QB's in the league that could've taken that 1-4 squad to the post season? Not many.

Great post!! By the way, I wouldn't be surprised to see your Bears in the Super Bowl this year. They just need to stay healthy and they will be around in January for a deep playoff run.

Fuck the Chicago Flubs too.

1908: In one of baseball's classic pennant races the New York Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs battle down to the finals days of the season with National League Championship up for grabs. The Giants appear to win the pennant when Fred Merkle gets a dramatic game winning hit against the Cubs. However, due to fans flooding the field, Merkle is unable to circle the bases. A fiasco ensues where the Cubs try to tag 2nd Base with every baseball they could find. Not knowing what to do the National League decides to re-play the game with the Cubs winning the game which would end up deciding the pennant. With a 99-65 record the Cubs finished one game ahead of the Giants and Pirates. The Cubs would go on to face the Detroit Tigers for the second Straight years in the World Series. Trailing 6-5 in the opener the Cubs would rally on six straight hits to claim a 10-6 victory. Game 2 would be a pitcher's duel until the 8th Inning before the Cubs exploded for six runs to take a 2-0 series lead. After the Tigers won Game 3, the Cubs would win the final two games shutting out the Tigers twice to become the first team ever to win two consecutive World Series. Little did anyone know at the time that this would be the last World Series the Cubs would win.

lol, even with SUPER STARS.... too bad they didn't have Peyton Manning. Oh wait, they had Banks and Santo and they still sucked ass year after year.

ROFLMFAO!!!

I think we have a better shot than some can see. The Bears reeled off 5 straight while scoring 39, 24, 30, 37, 31 before losing both Cutler and Forte amongst others. The undoubtedly would have swept the AFC West if healthy after that win streak. Health is certainly needed, but we have a team that is fit for a championship run. Thanks for the love!

The Cubs may not have won since 1908, but you're a bandwagon fan now. Rofllmfdagffooo psssh.

Wrong, jack-ass. I'm a Tim Tebow fan. Remember the THREAD - Tebow Haters, Correct???

My Penis Is Dancing!
It takes a stronger man to stick with his man through thick and thin than it does to bounce around with the yearly "winner".
When I was a kid, my favorite player publicly left the Reds for the Phillies. And right after that, the Reds when through some very dark times. But, I remained with them. Of course, I was 11 at the time, not some guy claiming to be pushing 60.
Yeah,I watched the Phillies and rooted for them - somewhat. But the Reds were still in my heart, and remain so. They are not perfect, by any means - but they are my Reds. And, yes, some of my favored players go on to other teams - that is the nature of today's baseball. And, yes, I watch them and still root for them. But, when they come head to head with my Reds, I root for my team.

Lord Dipstick
Like I give a rat's ass about what any of you turds think.

You care so much, you lay awake at night, trying to come up with topics that will get you attention. I love that you think you can convince us (or are you trying to convince yourself?) that you're immune to our opinions. Don't react so vehemently when people respond to you, and we'll start to believe you don't care.

lol... and where exactly was your name mentioned in this topic, concerning the Broncos and the Cubs?

I didn't think so!

Remember, you're posting in a public forum. If you can't accept that everyone is welcome to respond to anything you post in a public forum, especially in a thread you started, especially in a thread with a very provocative title, please, for the love of all that is holy, stop posting altogether. Let me reiterate that, as you just don't seem to get it:

You post anything on the forum, you are not allowed to be upset when people respond.

It's just that simple. I know you aren't terribly bright, but surely you can grasp that concept, right?

so your strategy for team loyalty is to hate the team you love when they improve 500% (low-ball guesstimate) at the most important position and start rooting for a team that A) sucks and B) Isn't anywhere near you?

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
You're a dip shit. I never compared Tebow to the likes of Banks performance wise. I was referring to the popularity concerning the fans. How the FANS would have felt had they traded one of those two guys. So stop with your "I know more about sports than anyone else," mantra. Because you fucking don't.

Again... I was referring to the FANS and how they would have felt had Banks been traded early on and the same with Santo. Fuck the head office shenanigans... I'm talking fans, you cock sucker. And one more thing...

I'll continue shitting on your Cubs and their lack of management, scouting, and farm system, and their lack of World Series appearances and World Series wins for as long as you continue to say I am a bandwagon fan. Pfft.... Clown, you weren't even a glimmer in your dad's eye when I was rooting for the Cardinals back in the very early 1960s. Yeah that's right. Born and raised in St. Louis. Band wagon my ass!

Was it 1908 the last time.... oh wait, anyone who actually saw the Flubs win the World Series..... is dead! There is not ONE person alive to tell about it, because it was so fucking long ago.

And, I still stand on the principle that a super star is not a guarantee to winning a Championship. If your stupid logic had any merit to it, The Flubs would have won countless Pennants and World Series, because in your pea brain, they were SUPER STARS. Yet.. the fact remains, they fucking sucked year after year when Banks and Santo were playing.

I love that you quoted and responded to my initial post twice. For someone who doesn't care about the opinions of others, you sure tried awfully hard to refute what I said.

If the Cubs had traded away Santo and Banks, I wouldn't have cared at all. Mainly because I wasn't alive at the time. Those two retired twenty years before I was born. Now, if they had traded away Grace, Sandberg, or Dawson (my favorites growing up), I still would have been a fan. I'm not a fan of one player over an entire franchise. Apart from shooting fans for sport, there's nothing the Cubs could do that would make me stop loving that team. They probably won't win a World Series in my lifetime, and I'm perfectly okay with that. I'm still going to support the team every year. I'm still going to at least five home games every year, and I'm still going to watch every game that I can. That's what being a fan is about.

To give up on a franchise over one player is ridiculous to me. To become a fan of another team is even more ridiculous. There's no possible way I could ever root for a different baseball or football team. That's completely unfathomable to me. The Colts just released Peyton fucking Manning, and I'm still a fan of the team. #18 is probably my favorite player of all-time. I hope he plays well in Denver, and I hope he's successful. But when Denver plays the Colts, there's no fucking chance I'm rooting for the Broncos. None whatsoever.

And I'll continue to refer to you as a bandwagon fan until you can prove otherwise. It's also obvious to me that it bothers you way more than it bothers me when you make fun of the Cubs. I know they suck. I'm well aware of that. I have a brand new Cubs "W" flag that I've taken to Wrigley the last five times I've gone to a home game. I haven't been able to use it because the Cubs lost all five of those games. That doesn't mean I'm ditching my team though. Fuck that. I'm a lifetime fan. You wouldn't know anything about that.

Here's a song for you, Sam. Enjoy.

I don't believe I said I would totally give up on the Broncos... My disappointment stems from the fact they dumped him like a sack of shit. What the Broncos management did was something akin to the Yankees. They are always outbidding anyone who has an interest in a certain ball player. Steinbrenner was known for that. I see the Broncos giving up on a kid who has great potential and making a big deal about signing an old man who sat out a full year and has several neck operations.

It would have been fun to watch Tebow improve and have the team build around him. But to throw him under the bus and sign Manning, just goes against my way of thinking.
