Been friends with her for some years now via Facebook, and got to know her kids for a bit, too.

All of them, mum and kids, are really bright, and they are doing much more than okay.

Of course, having to deal with people who like to judge, condemn or comment on your life is a constant challenge, but they are handling this well, too.

Funny how people seem to think that people age and are supposed to look like former fans expect you to.

Looking back over the years, many of us oldtimers at Freeones have changed, too, and not always for the better.

This would be my argument: Okay, so she is very adamant that she absolutely needed to, just HAD to have her driver's license picture taken with that colander on her head because it is supposedly her absolute legal right to do so because of her religion. Oh really? If wearing a colander on her head is really 100% THAT important that she had to do so on her driver's license ... why do we not see her wearing it on any other pictures? How convenient. Looks like she just wanted to thumb her nose at, make fun of, rebel against the legal system.

Hopefully they put a restriction on her driver's license requiring that she wear her colander at all times while driving, otherwise get a big ole fine of $5,000. Then we'll see just how real and serious this colander wearing necessity really is. I seriously doubt she slaps on that colander automatically EVERY time that she's about to drive just as automatically as buckling up her seat belt.

Last month I renewed my driver's license. When having my picture taken, I was told to remove my glasses. I did so without going into some charade about needing to wear them because of whatever.

Nah, those are different things. My renewal was the same in that I wore my glasses to read the chart but made to take them off for my pic. The code on the license is for drive with corrected lenses. Taking them off was for my facial identity. Hats don't cover the face.

There was a thing going on some time back where women that religiously wore burqas wanted their license pics while wearing them. That was struck down because your state ID has to at least show your full face.

In hindsight, now that I think about it, I guess it MUST be a case of anything goes as far as what's on your head when you take that pic. Many years ago, wayyy back when I was overdoing it because I could finally grow a beard and a mustache ... I went in to take my driver's license pic with not only a big ole nasty, wild beard and mustache, but unbenownst to me, I had a major mess going on in my hair. I was already in need of a haircut and then it was a nasty windy day. When I walked in into the driver's license office, I just finger combed my hair back to half ass put it back in place ... or so I thought. It wasn't until my driver's license came that I realized that I looked like Woodstock from the Peanuts cartoon. :eek: :rofl2:

Apparently the law didn't require the driver's license office rep to inform me, "Uhhh, sir, you're gonna have to go to the restroom and fix that illegal mess that you have on your head." :rofl:

Still though, I reiterate that in the extreme least, if Asia Carrera made such a big deal of insisting on taking her pic with a colander on her head, the restriction should be noted on her license that she needs to drive with it on.

I'll bet she doesn't wear that ridiculous thing :tinhat: when she's out at the mall, at the movies, grocery shopping, restaurants, etc. And it probably isn't safe if she's out singing in the rain if there is a remote threat of lightning. :1orglaugh
