Forced Listening

Motorhead... 9/10 !! it's motorhead!
i didnt mean to hijack the thread with the AIC talk a few posts ago. yes Layne did have an AWESOME voice, a unique voice but he is gone and they had to move on. could they have just did the music under a different group name, sure. but it is only one member gone so why not keep it going? if you are going to tell me that "Black Gives way to Blue" is not a good album/cd ....Dont hate me... but you either need to go back and listen to it again, maybe a few more times OR you have terrible taste in music!
my Choice is Trivium - In Waves. i choose the video of the song rather than the song itself with a picture of an emblem of the group, it is longer but well worth it! if you want to skip right to the song go to :59 it starts there.

^no prob, just my opinion. just next time throw me a message or something instead.

as for the video, 5/10 i think they really balanced the "commercial" sound with sweet breakdowns and subtle heaviness and good lyrics, but its not their best work in my eyes

Primus! I'm gonna have to give this a 7/10. I'm a Primus fan, I don't care, I just love 'em! This band makes me reminisce on the song I will showcase in this post merely out of the era it makes me think of.

Green Jelly: Three Little Pigs

6/10. I'd never heard of them, but they reminded me of Faith No More playing with Suicidal Tendencies. Not my typical thing, but not bad by any means...

I just found this band the other day, and they pretty much rock. The video's pretty awesome too if you feel like actually watching it.

Red Fang - "Wires"

for the video, i give this a perfect 10. its my life from 16 to 24... as for the song, i give it a 7/10. i like it, but for the genre it doesnt stand out to me that much

my life with the thrill kill cult- after the flesh

6/10... I really know nothing about that kind of music. Kind of reminded me of something they'd play during a fight scene in "The Matrix" I didn't hate it, but I don't really see myself listening to more of them.

This "band" is a bunch of musicians from the legendary Joshua Tree "Desert Rock" scene that get together every few years at a ranch, get baked, and then right an album over the course of a week. This particular record featured Josh Homme, [NOBABE]PJ Harvey[/NOBABE], Dean Ween, Dave Catching, Alain Johannes and a bunch of others.

Desert Sessions - "Dead In Love"

the desert sessions. 7/10 different. something i would listen to but also something i wouldn't listen to. it is an original sound and i like when stuff is out of the box.

i don't listen to much Rap/R&B but i gotta put this up.
DE La Soul - Me,Myself and I :

i give it 6/10... i hate rap, but this era/band stood for something. there was a core bunch that rapped about the urban community bettering themselves through knowledge...
as for my next pick, i doubt it will get great reviews, but its word association

8/10. It's a great song, I only took of 2 points because I wouldn't listen to it alot. I have a feeling that the genre would probably start to bore me pretty quickly if dug a little deeper.

Sleep - "Dragonaut"

6/10... I've never liked Tom Petty for reasons I've never really been able to articulate, even to myself :dunno: However, it was one of the better songs I've heard from him.

Amon Amarth - "Under The Northern Star"

not a big fan of the swedish death metal bands,i hate the vocals that are just growling. you cant understand wtf they are saying. 5/10 and i am being generous.

ALL - Daveage.
my cousin got me into these guys i am not even sure what type of music they can be called. punk rock? but i LOVE these guys!

^I can understand every word they're saying, and not just because I know the lyrics, you just gotta listen.

9/10... I used to love ALL. Pretty sure they were called The Descendents until the lead singer left for college. Then the remaining members continued on as ALL until he came back.

Alunah - "Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn"

L3ggy

Special Operations FOX-HOUND
8/10 'tis a very good song, I wouldn't mind hearing more of them.

Doesn't start to sing until about two minutes in.

6/10. Again, not my typical thing, but you can tell that they're definitely adept at their instruments. Sounds like Between The Buried And Me playing with Faith No More.

SubRosa - "Borrowed Time, Borrowed Eyes"
