My state has some sort of "Jersey devil" legend but that was in the southern part.

But in my home town we had.

"Edison – Old White Church on Woodbridge Ave – It is said that the cemetery is haunted by Mary Moore, a woman executed in the 1700’s accused of witchcraft. Many people have stolen her headstone and died shortly after. People have said they have seen her in the cemetery."

The Jersey Devil is one of my favorite halloween stories. For those of you who don't know about the JD, or know about him but don't know the whole legend behind it....

been there once place is huge and creapy. we go freaked out running back to the road two of my buddies claim that they got swooped on by somthing and it knocked them on there asses. defnatly saw some crazy shit in there and heard plenty of unsettling noises voices lights and ghostly whatnots. they recently tore all the bulidings down but the main building. havnt heard any thing about it since. mtvs ghost show did an epsiode there i didnt se it some one told me aobu tit when we were talking about how they tore it down.
