Films that make you cry

Now who is gonna admit that they cry at watching a film?

I have only ever cried at 2 films. The first one was Forrest Gump, but that was a one off and it hasn't affected me since.

The only other film that makes me blubber every time i watch it, is The Green Mile. I watched it the other night and as hard as i tried, i couldn't keep it in. :weeping:

Aw sheesh...
Okay, E.T. 'dying' :weeping:
Maximus dying at the end of Gladiator.:weeping:

I also nearly cried after watching Matrix Revolutions..
but that was just the thought of having wasted my time and money going to the cinema and watching it.

BTw... I'M STILL A MAN THROUGH AND THROUGH.... OK!!!

"City Of Angels"

Ya...

Give that it was quasi-religious... I identified with the whole concept of "falling from grace" and choosing Free Will.

Obviously... in that frame of mind ^ ... "The Passion Of The Christ"

And I know I'll catch flak for that, but you know what? I really don't care... to each his own, y'know. Live and let live.

I'm sure if I sit here and really give it some thought, I could come up with more... but those two are enough.

:hatsoff:

Q

If the cheesy (sorry) "City of angels makes you cry, go for the (not cheesy) orginal called "Wings of desire" by Wim Wenders. Amazing movie, very moving and the guys who can enjoy some artistic directing will not be diappointed.
I recommend a subtitled version (it's multilingual: english, german, french, a few others).

For me it's Amelie , particularly the scene with the blind man

LMFAO... YA... it WAS cheesy!!! LMFAO

I don't know... came out about the time I was going through some really hard times. I think it was more the message than anything else.

That song especially gets to me... "Angel"....

Holds a lot of hidden meaning for me.

* BTW... thank you for the tip! I had forgotten all about "Wings Of Desire"... good one!

Wow, you know WOD?
:hatsoff: I'm impressed

BTW: "Wings of desire" is a crappy translation, the orginal title (Der Himmel über Berlin) would translate to sth. like "The sky above Berlin", I guess it didn't read well on the marquis.

The green mile did the trick for me too the first time I saw it.

Yeah the Green Mile & Gladiator have nearly reduced me to tears, but not quite

On a lighter note, the new Thunderbirds film nearly made me cry. I've not seen it but from the preview it looked sooooooooooooooooooooooo bad

When I was a kid I cried watching Transformers the movie when Optimus Prime died :weeping:

He didn't really die.. he was just made into a lot of toasters.

yeh gladiator and the green mile .. almost. The matrix 2 and 3 almost made me cry from sheer dissappointment

"City of angels" for me, too! And QBall1970, you are right, the song "Angel" from Sarah McLachlan has the same effect to me. Sutty posted the lyrics here: Your best song thread.
I also had to cry at the end of Backdraft...

:hatsoff: Jackson
