Favre changes his mind. Again.

Look at it this way. Pretty much all of us, OCSMs excluded, are in professions where we can work and be successful at it until we die. In pro football, the average player’s career lasts 5 years. If Brett has another year or two left in him, why shouldn’t he play?

I don't think anybody is saying he shouldn't play. But don't retire, and unretire and then retire again just to unretire when you can finally play on the Vikings.

10 bucks says Rosenfels is starting by week 10

Yeah, I guess he's a funny character (i.e., Redneck from Miss ;)). Can't say for sure, but I'd think a person of his stature would've been welcomed back. I don't really care one way or the other: GB eats nuts and the queens eat bigger nuts.

My prediction right here: if the queens do in fact sign Favre, I think they go 12-4 and make it to the NFC playoffs, win one and done. Then hopefully Favre will take his redneck ass back to whatever hot, shitty Mississippi town he's from, for good. ;)

I think the Vikings are a little better than they are without him. Maybe they end up with around 9 or 10 wins with more a slight possibility. I still think the Bears probably are the best team in the division.

I think the Vikings will win the Norris Division now. Remember with Adrian Peterson, Favre doesn’t have to do everything. If his arm is even remotely healthy opposing defenses will not be able to stack the box.

I have to disagree with you about the Bears. I think Cutler is going to be awful.

Does anyone know if it was a two year deal? All morning I head on ESPN it was a one year deal, but someone on there at one point said it was a two year contract.

I can already see where this is going: Favre is going to be getting death threats, If he hasn't already. Crazy ass sports fanatics out there.

I agree with Peter King that this was a very stupid move by the Vikings. Brad Childress, the head coach said that the team would accept Favre only if he participated in off season workouts and minicamps. Favre didn't, saying he was retired.
Later on Childress said the team wouldn't take on Favre unless he participated in training camp. Favre didn't, showing up and signing with the team after the hard part of camp was over.

The fact that Childress laid down these rules and Favre ignored them and the Vikings signed him anyway means that Childress has lost the respect of the other two qbs in camp who were expected to fight for the starting spot.

Finally, Favre said he didn't think his body could take the wear and tear of a full season and this will be a disaster for the Vikings.

Maybe he's trying to break Roger Clemens' record for "un-retiring".

This is getting soooooooooo old. He embarrassed himself last year with the Jets....now what? I agree....Rosenfels will be starting before mid-season (and, at this stage of their particular careers, may indeed be the better quarterback).

He's become a caricature of himself I'm afraid....and his appetite for media attention seems to be insatiable.

Yes, yes and yes.
If he's got some gas left in the old tank the Vikings are going to be a formidable team.

ESPN radio is saying its a 2 year deal.

12 Million the first year, 13 Million the second w/ NO incentives or bonus clauses according to ESPN. Just a basic 2 year deal.:dunno:

Make NO mistake, this is ALL about revenge on the Packers and NOTHING else!

Accuscore did a stat comparison. Pretty interesting.

Without Favre playing.

NFC North------Playoffs------Win Div.------Win------Loss

Green Bay-------64%---------41%---------10--------6

Minnesota-------63%---------41%---------9.8-------6.2

Chicago---------35%---------17%---------8.6-------7.4

Detroit-----------1%----------1.7%--------3.7------12.3

With Favre Playing

NFC North-------Playoffs-------Win Div------Win-------Loss

Minnesota--------75%------------55%-------10.7------5.3

Green Bay--------59%------------31%--------10--------6

Chicago----------32%------------14%--------8.4-------7.6

Detroit------------1%-------------1%--------3.7-------12.3

Simulation Stats------CMP----ATT----%----Yards----TD's-----INT

Brett Favre-----------276----423----65.3---3231----23-------16

Jackson/Rosenfels-----272----432----63.1---3184----22-------21

Adrian Peterson---------Rush-------Yards-------TD

Without Favre-----------340--------1668--------13

With Favre--------------368--------1803--------14

Minnesota is the only team better with Favre on it. Hmm.

It's probably about royalties. He had the best selling jersey w/NY last year and looks to have the best seller again this year. I know they get royalties for their jersey/name and how much they sell.

They're gonna trade Jackson now too. That's what they were saying on ESPN.

The only thing Minnesota needs to worry about is that shoulder. I really don't know if Favre can last the whole season. If he does, I can see the Vikings making the playoff.

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
Did people honestly think that the Vikings had a legitimate chance of winning the division before Favre signed? Two words...

SAGEEZUSCHRISTISUCKATQUARTERBACK and TAVARIUNDERPRODUCER

Even with Favre, the Vikings won't win the NFC North. That spot belongs to DA BEARS.

PS - My made up words are awesome.
