Favre changes his mind. Again.

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
Ugh. I've had to deal with the queens my whole life. The only time I think I truly enjoyed watching them was in '98, when they had one of the best teams in NFL history. Since then, I don't give a rats about them, and signing that Judas Favre might be the final straw for me.

This guy is an attention whore. Either retire or don't.
I suspect he uses it as leverage to get contracts from these teams.
Quit it already.

Pretty sure this removes the Vikings from the list of contenders. If they were even on that list in the first place.

Not even. They have one of the best D's, the best back, and a damn fine offense all-around. The only piece they were missing for a legitimate run was a QB, and they way Favre played the first half last year, if he can recapture that, they will be trouble in the NFC north. I think they easily win the NFC north and if Favre stays healthy they will be a serious threat. Does that mean I will root for them? No. I don't root for them anymore.

Four-time Super Bowl losers. :yesyes:

From what I understand this all stems from the way him and GB parted ways. Dude's royaly pissed about something that happened behind closed doors. We might never know, but from what he has said publicly, they treated him like shit.

Yeah, because they weren't willing to put up with his Prima Donna act of the last 2 years.

If Minnesota goes 2-14 this season, with 2 wins agains Green Bay, Favre will finally retire happy.

From what I understand it has mostly to do with the fact they wouldn't just accept him back with open arms late into training camp after his last year with them when they already had the whole system planned out for Rodgers and designed everything including who they drafted that year for that. That was after Favre said he was retired for most of that off-season. Basically it seemed that Favre thought Green Bay should just automatically take him back because he was Brett Favre and they wouldn't do it. I can't really blame Green Bay for that, and most Packer fans seem to support that decision.

As far as this, I think it might all have been a ploy (that the Vikings might very well have known about and gone along with) to get out of part of training camp.

I think I've come to the realization that the very last events, in order, that happen in our universe before it ends are going to be:

-Peace, justice, and goodwill towards people spreads everywhere-
-Duke Nukem Forever gets published-
-Brett Favre finally retires for good-
-Chuck Norris dies-
-Universe ends/end of time-

Yeah, I guess he's a funny character (i.e., Redneck from Miss ;)). Can't say for sure, but I'd think a person of his stature would've been welcomed back. I don't really care one way or the other: GB eats nuts and the queens eat bigger nuts.

My prediction right here: if the queens do in fact sign Favre, I think they go 12-4 and make it to the NFC playoffs, win one and done. Then hopefully Favre will take his redneck ass back to whatever hot, shitty Mississippi town he's from, for good. ;)

GO AWAY ALREADY!!! The Vikings basically just bent over and spread 'em for this attention whore. They think he's the difference between winning the Superbowl, and not winning it. I don't think he's the final piece of the puzzle. There are still about 4 teams better than them. Favre was a great player, but damn is he a world class attention whore.

Damn. I was already prepared for Tebow talk all year by ESPN, now I have to brace for Favre talk too. I thought the report was bogus about 2 Vikings players talking about Favre.

Normally, I agree with you in matters pertaining to sports. However, in this case, I'm inclined to disagree. Favre is certainly an upgrade form Jackson or Rosenfels. And you have to respect his arm and the passing game if he's playing. That only means more running room for AP. This is where I think Favre has an impact. Teams won't be able to throw eight men in the box now to stop the run. They have to respect the vertical passing game. I think the Vikings are definitely a contender now. I'd say that they are almost a lock to win the NFC North (look at the competition). I'm not a Favre fan by any means. I think he's past his prime - but if his shoulder is healthy, he's going to compete at a high level. Look for the Vikes to be tough this year.
