Recently I've been listening mainly to hillbilly music: Hank Williams, the Carter Family, Jimmie Rodgers. But I like pretty much anything produced between 1925 and 1980.
I despise rap, hip hop, techno and the current perversion of the R 'n' B tradition.

LOL. yeah, I've always wanted to beat up the emo kids around campus. Emo is quite annoying.

I love good rock from 60's to 80's. And a wide range too.
The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Segar, Pink Floyd, ACDC, Boston, Queen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Sabbath, Styx, Rush, Guns And Roses, Areosmith, Bread, Fleetwood Mac, Christopher Cross, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Heart, Billy Idol, and tons more.
Some good R&B and soul too, like James Brown, Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Barry White, Earth Wind And Fire, Michael Jackson, Prince, and etc. Boys to Men had some good music in the 90's, same with Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Baby Face, etc... Old Skool hip-hop and some rap in the 90's is okay.
What I hate now? Most current rap and r&b, current pop, death metal, emo and current punk rock, scene rock, and anything else that's talentless junk.

Likes: indie rock & pop, lots of garage rock, some alternative, and some mainstream rock, some electronica, anything campy (i.e. Ssion, Scissor Sisters, Avenue Q soundtrack, Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack), definitely oldies (The Zombies, The Association, The Velvet Underground, Simon and Garfunkel, etc.)

My favorite music is all hard rock/heavy metal. I hate acid rock and anything that I call "downer" music, like Creed or Staind. Other than that, I may find pop annoying, but for the most part it doesnt make me want to puke. I'm not a fan of rap either but can't really say I hate it. I guess I can sum it up this way, hate: creed, staind, and pink floyd. Love: fast guitar riffs.

Music I like- well-written songs, a lot of classic rock and pre-2000 top 40 pop type stuff, some country. I admire the jazz and classical greats, but don't listen to them much. Dylan, Springsteen, Joel, U2 through Achtung Baby, Doors are a few of my faves.
