Favourite Music/Most Hated Music

I'm just sick of these bands that think they're hard simply because they are loud. Playing a loud whole note doesn't make good metal! I've pretty well been turned off from metal because of it. I've gone the way of classic rock. Those people could write, AND play their instruments!

I hate the over rated crap they play on MTV and VH1, the so called "manufactured" pop, that and rap

My most hated forms of music is probably most of the rap that's being played today. Sure, I also hate death/black metal that only has growling, but I get to hear much more rap, so a lot of that I really hate.

My favourite kind of music is definately metal. I love many kinds of it, especially if it has some symphonic instruments and/or female vocals mixed in.

Other than that I really listen to and like many kinds of music. Rock, pop, classic etc. It pretty much all have something that's good for various occasions.

Mediaeval and renaissance music, classical music, classic rock and heavy metal.

I hate:
Rap, techno and hip-hop (without exception), punk and a great deal of pop

80's Top 40: Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Huey Lewis, Phil Collins, Paul McCartney, Tears For Fears, The Police, Madonna, Prince...and the rest of the big 80's rock/pop/R&B scene. It's the music I grew up listening to.

Britpop: Oasis, The Verve, Radiohead, Coldplay...etc

The oldies: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, John Lennon, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, The Rolling Stones...etc

Grunge: Nirvana, Pearl Jam

I hate the following:

Techno
Hip Hop
Heavy/Death/Trash Metal
Avante Garde
Freestyle

Suprisingly, some bands I can't stand are Social Distortion, The Ramones, and The Sex Pistols.

Favourite Music: Rock N' Roll(50's to early 90's), Reggae(Till it got rappified, but still some songs are exellent), Blues, Rhythm N' Blues, Jazz, Classical Music and a little Metal.

Most Hated Music: Hip hop, Rn'B, Country, Rap and many others.

I hate dance music, trance etc... just can't get into them at all, as they are not music.

There is great country music!
And then I agree, there is great classical music.
Great concerts to go to are in Chicago at the Ravinia. - Open air! Can also be a picknick. Once a year there is Tschaikowsky, that's great.
