jesus! no Burton, no Scorsese, no Spielberg?

who the heck do you want? Michael Bay?
There haven't been many talented directors since the 70ies (Jarmusch, the Coens, Hal Hartley)

Burton has his moments (Ed Wood, Nightmare Before Christmas, Sleepy Hollow) but he also is a safe bet for the odd dud (Edward Scissorhands, Batman, Planet of the Apes).

I remember bodie likes Robert Altman :glugglug:

I like pretty much everything he has done, but I guess I would say Edward Scissorhands. I do enjoy his stop animation stuff also, I own The Corpse Bride on Blu ray and The Nightmare Before Christmas on dvd.

His movies he always be into gothic/strange - But, I like it... I like his style. He's a genius and one of my favorite directors of all time!

I enjoy just about all of Burton's movies, but my favorite by far is Edward Scissorhands. I just love the surrealist quality the whole movie has.

A common theme for Burton is his own signature blend of fantasy and real life. I feel he accomplishes this better than anyone today and possibly anyone ever. Other favorites include Pee-Wee, Beetlejuice, Batman and Sweeney Todd.

Burton isn't going to fool anyone into believing his movies can happen in real life, but he makes his characters real enough that it is easy to identify with them.

For me, it's Big Fish, Sleepy Hollow, and Batman, in that order.
