This is fuckin' bullshit. The girl coulda been paralyzed. A proper adult has to take authority and stop allowing this. A young, pretty girl in a wheelchair is not a good look for your company and the network would be pissed. Luckily she's 20 and made out of rubber so she got lucky this time.

Wow that's scary. As bad as that was, another aspect was how she barely nicked the table and it broke apart like Styrofoam. Even if she hit her mark I'm questioning how safe it would have been.

Speaking of young female wrestlers potentially being paralyzed...

Paige/Saraya is not medically cleared to wrestle. I'm not sure why Tony signed her or what his plans are for her.
You'd have to imagine that she's going to pull an Edge and that an in-ring return is eventually going to be in the cards. Otherwise, like you said, there would have been very little point to sign her. I mean, she just turned 30 and has been resting/rehabbing for almost 6 years. Compared to Edge's return, I'd say it's more than feasible.

She still has to get medical clearance and properly booked into a match by the boss. If she ends up getting hurt again that will make AEW look like a bunch of negligent carnies.
If Hart's landing doesn't convince them to get their shit together, nothing will. I'm sure the coincidence between Paige's return and the botch isn't lost on anyone.

Sadly, it's not the only time it happened. And this isn't the full list.

But I don't think they stopped the show in any of these.

I vividly remember King having a heart attack on-air, and hearing that "Thud" as his head hit the announce table. I particularly remember it because I had just met him less than a month before that at a meet & greet and even got my picture taken with him. And they just made Cole continue with the commentary as usual. I have a lot of respect for Cole from that night - watching a co-worker possibly die next to you, and just continuing with your job? Respect.

Just to lighten the mood - did you notice how her hat landed perfectly on her crotch?

More fan footage. What's sad is that you can hear fans pleading to stop the show... which obviously didn't happen.

And this happened on their secondary show as well, like their version of Velocity. The same show where they had one of the most iconic wrestlers of all time (The Great Muta) debut as a *surprise*. AEW is a mess right now.

Neat, I never knew Steve was a long-time fan. I haven't heard anyone mention Velocity in a long time. Fun show.

I thought Io vs Bliss was great. Good mix of flying, ground work, power moves (even an air raid crash). Both women hit their marks and neither came off as inferior.

I enjoyed it. The womens matches could have been better but everything was banger after banger after banger, especially the opener

All the matches felt too long but they all had some good stuff in them. Doing an event full of extreme rules matches just tires me out after a while. Thought Bayley vs Bianca was the best on the card, but they shouldn't be doing a ladder match as their first match considering how anticipated that match was. The ending of Edge vs Balor was really well done.

I like gimmick matches every now and again but I also don't like an entire card full of them. Gimmick matches should be special and have a build to them with a story that makes sense and also stand apart from the rest of the matches on the card. AEW is notorious for having street fight type matches for no rhyme or reason without an ounce of heat between the two opponents. Basically they tell the Corpse Referee or Marilyn Manson cosplay ref to go take a nap.

Yeah, you could still do an Extreme Rules event but not have every match like that. Not every match on Hell in a Cell or Money in the Bank are cell or ladder matches, after all.

Good points. But I still think there is a niche for a once-a-year event where every match is "extreme" in some way, so long as every match isn't just a "no holds barred" match. I know some might be really gimmicky (strap match this year), but I think it adds to the variety. And I'm always a fan of the "falls count anywhere" where they go throughout the arena (I really loved the corporate ladder match). First blood, Inferno, etc... there are lots of fun gimmicks to choose from, and as long as there is a basis for picking that match in the storyline, I'm sold.
