Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
OK everyone, things have gotten a bit stale here lately from my perspective so we are going to ramp up this thread. It's really simple....if the mood strikes you, pick another Freeones member (preferably someone interesting but, considering the possible scarcity of such a commodity, uninteresting or even downright boring members can be interviewed as well) that you would like to interview. Prepare a list of questions (Just 6-8 or so....let's not get carried away) and pm the member to obtain his (or her) permission to do the interview. Submit the questions. The member will then answer the questions and pm them back to you. You can then copy and paste them into the thread in the form of a new post. Easy huh?
Just a few ground rules and we can add to them as we go if you want. Feel free to make a suggestion anytime:
- No questions allowed that are designed to incite an angry response from the member; BE RESPECTFUL OF EACH OTHER
- If the member declines the interview offer, don't persist; NO MEANS NO
- The member can alter, omit or even submit an alternative question(s) if the question being asked is something he (or she) would rather not answer

What do you currently do for a living?
I'm self employed in two fields. One involves producing music, one involves liturgy.
What's the strangest object or substance that you have ever used during sex?
Ostrich egg yolk. (Am I kidding, or not?)
How (and why) did you choose your nickname?
Dirk has been a ****** nickname for me since I was born, and I was once called a fucking lurker by a delusional woman. I like the pairing.
Where are your originally from? Where do you live now (in general, no street addresses!! )?
Born in South Africa, lived in the Netherlands, then Canada, then a few places for short times, live now in the MidWest, U.S.A.. Planning on moving back to Canada soon.
Did you graduate from college? If so, what was your major?
Ha. I graduated from many colleges. Undergrad focus on performance music and history, minors in English and Philosophy. Masters in Fine Arts. Second Masters in Musicology. Ph.D. in music, D.M.A. in conducting. ummmm, I think that's it.
What kind of music do you like and who is your favorite performer?
See my above answer to know why this question would take me too long to fully answer. I prefer the Modernists (ie. Schoenberg), but relax to Indie Rock currently. I'm also quite partial to vocal sonic collage music. See the works of Eric Whitacre for examples.
How do you reconcile a busy life with so much time on FreeOnes?
When I'm on FreeOnes, I'm always also working on something else. I use it as brief pauses while I'm thinking something out. It's nice to have something like FreeOnes where I can have fun and take nothing seriously.
