Ever have a cool teacher?

Yup. Mr. Hogan. Math teacher in highschool. He wasn't just cool, he was also a great teacher. I even volunteered to tutor some of his students after I graduated. We'll hit the casino or driving range once in a while now. If everybody had a teacher like him, the world would be a better place.

Mhmm Miss.Freyn, she was a lesbian and she was sooo cool she was my 9th grade English teacher.. She'd choose a different person from class each week to "teach" the class for a day.. (it was usually the person with the highest percent grade for that week) it was just such a unique way of teaching & I really learned a lot in her class.

I also had an 9th grade social studies teacher, Mr.Halston & he was gorgeous! I'd literally put wrong answers on tests just so I could stay after school for his tutoring class. Lol

(& this is random but since middle school I've never had a female social studies teacher.. They've always been male.. Weird.)

Mr Bernard, highschool Economy teacher. his class was always the last of the day so me and a bunch of friends used to have a drink in a local pub after his class.

I don't understand why it's important to mention that :dunno:

Anyway, my English teacher was very cool. He was a biker and looked rough and mean but he was a very kind man and he had great sense of humour, not at all what you'd expect based on his looks. We were allowed to eat in class and if someone already knew the material that was being studied that day he or she could go and do whatever they wanted.

I mentioned it because it was one of my memories I have of her, telling us about her girlfriend and then running into her at Connections (a gay club in town) a few years later. She was a very proud lesbian and it was a big part of who she was, so I guess that's why I felt it neccasary to mention? :dunnu:

I've had plenty of cool instructors in my life. Let me see... Mr. Tydlacka, my 8th grade English teacher, was a recent college graduate stoner. When he saw the crappy guitar that I was using to learn to play he bought his roommate's guitar and gave it to me so I could learn on a proper instrument... Hugo, my 9th grade math, physics, chemistry, and ecology teacher, used to bring in porn magazines and let the boys gather around his desk and let the boys critique the pictures. He also taught me the proper way of lighting a paper airplane on fire and keep it lit if I was throwing it at someone during class... Mrs. Sutterer, my 11th grade history teacher, would let us bring food and drinks when we had a test so we could relax... There've been others, but those are just off the top of my head.

My councillor was a huge baseball fan - yes, it was the Cleveland Indians, but still a huge fan. After I graduated, we went to several Indians games, as well as their minor league games (this was in the late 1980s). He died a few years ago, but still led a full life.
I had a social studies and later history teacher who was great. He was excited about everything, and it showed. I see him at work every once in a while - even in his golden years, his passion still shows.
Then I had a Spanish teacher who was obnoxious and fun as hell. He bet another student the teen could not eat a hot pepper (200 chews), then sit still for 10 minutes. The student did not win the bet. That same student liked to copy my homework, then write it on the board for all to see. I also had the only English/Spanish book that had cusswords in it. Every once in a while, I would throw in a couple of choice phrases. Mike would write them on the board. Senior Ellis would crack up every time.
In college, I had an art instructor who loved to play Bob Marley all the time.
I could go on for hours. I had a lot of teachers and instructors who I thought were cool. Then again, I am a geek, so everyone is cool to me.
