While it is too late to prevent whats already happened it's never too late to learn the lessons for the future.Don't support wars and ridiculous spending on the military and reject this idea that govt should deregulate(almost exclusively a republican agenda) and allow corporations to do the things that got us where we are now.Truth is many were warning against such a philosphy for decades but since the rich have so much power and clout they got their way and here we are.People should be leaning out there windows and SCREAMING "I'm mad as hell and ain't gonna take this anymore".
If you end up on a bread line you will be outraged I'm sure.

I know exactly where you're coming from and what you're saying, but...

I don't support "the war", I don't support the ridiculous amounts of spending on our military (unless it IS needed), I don't support the allowance of corporate power in politics, I don't support a lot of things that are obviously a terrible idea...

Yet, that doesn't do a damned thing. Why? Because I can't do anything about it.

I am always going to have to pay taxes whether I like it or not, I am always going to have to deal with our goverment's stupidity whether I like it or not and I am always going to have to watch it all happen...like it or not.

:dunno:

Since I can't do anything about it, I don't really see the use in getting so worked up about it. Getting mad over something that is out of my control is just a waste of time. At least, that's how I see it.

Exactly my point Friday,BUT the ideological NEO CONS just don't get it & is it me or are they itching for a confrontation with Iran:dunno: How much will that cost? Yet the average Republican voter is wringing their hands about GAY Marriage,Abortion,GUNS,Welfare to the poor,Obama's religion, FLAG PINS on Obama's lapel,etc..... As Obama says "ENOUGH!"

Government Regulation has always been the Democartic platform & NOW Republicans have seen the light? McCain who has fought Regulation for 30 years(along with generous tax breaks to Corporations) is now for it conveniently close to election time.

As Obama says YES WE CAN;) do something about it! Maybe like stop voting for the same NEO CONS/Republicans like McBush :dunno:who , as their Party Platform 1)have pushed for Corporate welfare, 2)tax breaks for the wealthy,3)against unions, 4)against Wall street regulation, 5)waged absolutely unnecessary wars,etc.....

YES WE CAN do something about it. Vote their asses out of office , but it seems some voters are more interested other less pressing social issues. Gay Rights,Abortion,Obama's Color/religion/name/flag pin/, safety net programs to those "parasites", Ak-47's & submachine guns, is the candidate "like me" or does he share my" family/social/religious/values",etc.......

If I had a dollar for every time someone rejected reality, common sense or goodwill-towards-men...

..in the name of their values/beliefs/dude in the sky..

... I'd have a damn part time job.

It's disgusting, really. Gay rights? The people deciding what isnt right for gays dont even know any gays. They arent gay. The gay lifestyle has no effect on them. Why all the anger every time you see someone different on the tee-vee? The people they're arguing against just dont factor into their lives. With all the uproar over what some couple nextdoor might be doing and how your dude-in-the-sky says 'well that's not quite right IMO, but I'm not going to write a whole chapter about buttseks or tribbing' but thousands of years later the whole damned religion blows it out of proportion?!?

Then you could (try to) make a point that in the process of trying to ban these things and repress the public you're just calling attention to it and making it more of an option. "It aint natural!" Oh? If it isnt natural it wouldnt be happening. It seems that conservative straight people think about more gay things than gay people. How the hell is that healthy? Hatemongering people, sheesh.

Reality is so narrow.. for so many.

Yes, "we" can...

I can't.

As if Lindsey is one to throw stones. We know who's wrong and who's right and Lindsey's opinion matters not.
