I'll just take these for now.

right now Germany is the best

All I can say to this is :1orglaugh

I think you'll find Italy are the current World Champions and are therefore 'the best'

Again :1orglaugh

yeah but England isn't walking all over this group. In fact, they are at 4th position! You can blame poor form or MacLaren but the fact is England isn't good enough.

That is because of bad selection and management. They try to constantly try to pick the eleven best players. Instead they should try to build a team that play as a team. Something England haven't done for some time. As the managers scared of the overpaid players. England need a strong manager that's not scared of the players and will drop the under performers.

Yeah, good teams don't always perform... I already mentioned that. :p I was saying England could win this group easily, if they ever got out of first gear.

It's just nonsense to think England aren't good enough to do so though. Everyone knows England can still field one of the best teams in the world. :)

England in first gear. Don't make me laugh. They are showing currently just what they are. A team of eleven mismatched players, who like Chelsea are a poor team.

true but England is right up there next to italy in mind-numbing football

The difference been England do have flair players. They just either don't get picked or not allowed to play their natural game.

Man Utd aren't exactly poor. They're one of the richest, biggest clubs in the world (and until recently, I think - THE biggest).

Not one of, are the richest team in the world. But then again at the moment are in debt with the chairman taking out a loan against the club to buy the club. As he couldn't afford to buy them, because his money is tied up elsewhere.

the last one was hamann in liverpool but thats like 4 years ago...and of course lehmann
anyway, with our bundesliga players we got to third in the world championship. and that was not luck at all, i think germany played very decently, specially in comparison to the 2002 world cup.

Also must revise before posting. Hamann only left Liverpool one season ago. Even then could have stayed this year if he wanted too. Only left as he knew he would feature a lot less this year.

Lehmann as most Arsenal fans will tell you isn't that good. In fact about a 8th of the goals scored against Arsenal since he came have been his fault. Plus he is a mental case.

Oh dear.

1) Kahn has had an awful season at Bayern and has been past his best for 5 years. http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=463538&plid=4104&clid=156&cpid=22
2) Goes without saying
3) Error prone and rash
4) Been playing in Italian 2nd Division this season!!

So you disagree Buffon is one of the best keepers in the world?

It's easy to dismiss others' opinions and not follow up with your own.
Who is the best national team based on current form in your opinion then?

There isn't one at the moment. Half are playing poorly. The other half have poor players. Stick whoever you think are the 10 best teams in the world at the moment into a league so they all play each other. I'd bet you most of them would end up beating each other and no one team would stand out.

Look at Scotland and N.Ireland. Both of these are battling at the top of there groups. But both don't have great players. There not even great teams, just that the top teams in there groups are playing so poorly.

Oh and I am one England fan who has his doubts about them qualifying.

England is one of the best national teams in the world, they will qualify...........but maybe for 2012 in Poland/Ukraine!:D

No, I rate Buffon very highly. Was just saying he's been playing against 2nd rate opposition recently and probably wouldn't include him in a current list. No doubts he'll be class in Serie A again next season.

My veiw on the situation the postives 4 out of our last 5 games are at home but 3 of them are teams that above us starting with israel and russia then the so called easy game against estonia then russia away which is going to be very hard the croatia at home who are at the top of the group at the moment so my point is for us to qualfy we are going to need to win all of our remaining home matches then a win or draw away to russia. Becasue one slip up i think now may cost a place in Euro 2008

That bit been the stumbling block here. Playing in a brand new stadium with no atmosphere due to bad planing. Any fan of football wouldn't have split the fans up. For those that don't know about the new Wembley stadium it is in three tiers. Bottom and top tier full of your everyday football fans. The middle tier is full of corporate boxes and press all round the stadium. Which means no harmony between the fans in the top tier and the bottom tier. Which has already proved to be a atmosphere killer. This stadium just gets worse and worse.

So don't think just because they are home matches it's going to make it easier. Arsenal this season has shown it takes time to settle in a new stadium. Not only do the players need time to settle in, so do the fans. So the early matches can go either way results wise in it.

Isreal are the worst out of the three above us but that doesnt make them easy but russia and crotia are going to be a lot harder as they have very good players other factors to include is beens were a big footballing nation teams are going to want to take points off us to see it as a great result for them

The had one good Match in the World Cup - unfortunately against us.

In Euro 2008 we will have our Revenge!

England will go out as usual. (Because of the curse of Wembley 1966)

Arsenal have always had a reputation for being the quietest fans in the country.

Ask Spurs fans about the 'Highbury Library'!

I didn't mention the Arsenal fans

I said Arsenal have shown it takes time to settle into a new stadium. I mentioned the fans of teams who's been to the new Wembley have been quiet.

They will qualify but wont go very far. They have quality but most of them just don't know how to use it internationally.
I was hoping Northern Ireland were going to go quite far until Lawrie resigned. But oh well. We could have been the next Greece.

And because of the general layout of highbury, the sound didnt stay in the stadium, and thats why it was so quiet. I have been to the Emirates last season, and I know me and everyone around me were shouting there arses off.

I don't think England will qualify until there is more balance to the side.
I don't think any Brittish sides will qualify for the Euro's.
