Haha I know, as an Italy fan, that world cup was sooooo sweet. First we win thanks to a penalty we didnt deserve (too bad it didnt ricochet off the crossbar and NOT go in but the ref would grant it anyway), then we owned Ukraine, then we scored in the 120th minute against you and then we caused Zidane to end his career in his shame. Just the way I love it.

Italy is me.

Considering how corrupt Italian football is, I wouldn't be surprised if someone hadn't bought referees and linesmen for your country to help you along the way. :angels:

Italy just played italian and the referees played along. also zidane, poor guy.
anyway, now in the euro qualifying italy isnt that great..

i dont mind anyway...because germany will win the euro and the 2010 world cup :) just like in the old days :D

its like saying Max Schemling is the greatest

I cant breath! Just too funny!

Laugh all you want, mate. :)

If you were to compare the club prices of players in the English squad with other international teams, it would be up there with the likes of Brazil. :) Money's the best indicator you can have for a player's quality, because it's largely established by the professionals -- agents, coaches, clubs, not just a bunch of fans like us. :)

Don't give me nightmares! You mean my fucked-up neighbors will bellow "Deutschland über alles" for four weeks and puke all over the hallway?

It's the right time to renounce your nationality and jump from the windowsill... :pukey:

yeah but often money is blown way out of proportion. you should know this, didnt you see Man U take rich Chelsea's title?
Besides, you need more than money and good players to win. You need them to care and you need team chemistry.
Rich players that get ridiculous amounts of money from their teams tend not to care when playing for their national teams and some good players (like Lampard and Del Piero) just suck for their national team.

Historically, Italy are always boring to watch. Most other countries, even England's arch-enemies Germany, can play entertaining football. Italy, on the other hand, just bore the opposition to death.

true but England is right up there next to italy in mind-numbing football

The only thing thats good about "English soccer" is the Premier League. No doubt its the best in the world! But why?
Because of the foreign players!!! Not because the English players.

yeah thats exactly my point...the italian way to play is boring, but effective. look at 2004's greece in the euro! the did nothing more than score 1 goal and then go back and block their goal ^^ and they also won.

Man Utd aren't exactly poor. They're one of the richest, biggest clubs in the world (and until recently, I think - THE biggest).

Besides, you need more than money and good players to win. You need them to care and you need team chemistry.

Totally, never said otherwise. My words were "England playing half as well as they can". Managers are absolutely key in creating that team chemistry, which is why I slammed McClaren. Some of us knew before he took over that he'd be worse than even Eriksson, but take no pleasure in being right.

I fully admit England have played poorly, but also know that with the right manager behind them to bring about that chemistry, England are one of the best teams in the world, second only to Brazil on paper.

Rich players that get ridiculous amounts of money from their teams tend not to care when playing for their national teams and some good players (like Lampard and Del Piero) just suck for their national team.

Lampard could be good for England, but he's been under two managers who haven't known how to get the best out of him and Gerrard. They're both so similar that playing them both at the same time is just stupid. Why not just use them as super-subs?

Absolute bollocks. Teams like Chelsea throw your claim right out the window - paying £30m+ for Shevchenko who scored fewer league goals than Kevin Doyle (£80,000).

And don't get me started on agents - money grabbing twats
