Obama will probably take VA adding 13 with 90% reporting a 51-49 lead. FL reports 80% with a 51-49 for 27.

Gonna be a big night(landslide) for Obama.I personally had my doubts America was capable of putting his race aside but have been shown that given the right person/circumstances they can get past such things.It is truly historic.
Now the only thing left is some of the other races to be determined to see how big his coat tails are.Libby Dole is gone in NC,it will be the 1st time since 1952 a Dole or a Bush is not in the govt.:sunny:
But still some other tight races like AL Franken vs Norm Coleman in MN that I will be watching as I have relatives in MN who care about the races there.Also there is a Pub congresswoman in MN named Bachman they call the "wicked witch of the midwest" who is in tight race but leading I think.She is real whack,hope she still loses.:bowdown:

I'm watching CNN. Not too long ago, they were showing graphics of different states and which candidate was "ahead" in each of them. I forget what state it was exactly, but they showed a state where McCain was leading over Obama. It also showed that only 33% of the voting had been tallied, yet...it declared McCain the WINNER in that state.

I don't know either. Unless they got their electoral votes before the popular vote was tallied?

Yeah....Nebraska is one of only 2 states (Maine the other) that proportion their electoral votes according to popular vote totals. Unusual but hell it makes all the sense in the world. If a state goes 51%/49%, why should the guys who gets the plurality get ALL the electoral votes. Interesting approach that other states should take a serious look at. Why should my vote in Texas (which went solidly for McCain) not count in any other meaningful way other than national popular vote?

O gotta get up really early tomorrow so I am outta here but a semi-premature (not much though) congrats to president-elect Obama and the new democratic representative dominance in both the house and senate. Don't let us down.

They can tell by the proportion of votes each got at that % what the final tally will be when all votes are finally in.This is something that has been done for decades and is a well known science.Can they be off some sure, but it is rare that a state they call doesn't go the way they called.
