with soup?!

Yup, with soup.

Alright, so the clones woke up, got sent to outfitting which resembles Q's lab in James Bond. They get some items, big explosion happens, the tech that was outfitting them left them alone with all sorts of equipment. Before I knew it they had a hoover chair train going on (hoover chairs tied to each other with rope) and they had gotten this big, heavy suit of armor that they think they might need. They sat it in a hoover chair.

So they go to their mission briefing which was in a kitchin and the briefing officer was making soup. I wrote 2 of the characters to love soup. Evidently they loved it so much that they decided to fill the suit of armor with soup so they had soup on the go.

Yes, someone wore the suit of armor at some point.

hahaa.. awesome.

btw, i just realized my chessex d20 tends to roll a lot of 5s and 15s. its kind of a bummer.

does anyone use those gamescience dice or anything that is really precise or "fair."

granted, now that im DMing way more than playing, it doesnt really matter what my dice actually say..but all the same. ;)

When you say it's just your system does that mean you still do things like roll dice to decide outcomes or is it just more of a LARP type of thing?

Normally I´m vary of the second kind of game, but Bob the Diceman did one at Conception that I played in, and it was really fun, at one point I was riding through space on my spacehorse, grabbed the deputy sheriff, spun him up, and lobbed him towards the bad guys (he had a really thick head you see) and basically converted him in to a projectile weapon. If you have enough booze and are willing to put up with a lot of creative nonsense it can be oh so awesome.

He did use dice, being Bob the Diceman, but it was more as a sort of guideline, if you came up with a really good idea why you wanted to do something the dicerolls just determined how well you would succeed, and if you happened to roll double failure, well, shit happened in really funky ways. Bob the Diceman seemed to have a very vivid imagination and I loved it.

And I´m normally the boring guy that has a hard time getting in to this sort of shizzlewizzle.

Petra and Bob the Diceman! You like playing with some dangerous people. :1orglaugh

I do wonder how you handled the whole equal and opposite reaction stuff while flinging somebody else in space, considering you probably didn't have as thick a head as the other guy and all. ;)

The players get to roll their d20, but that's pretty meaningless. As soon as they pick up on what means a success or fail I change what a success or fail is. So the actual system is you have to roll your rating or lower. Say you have medical 15. You have to roll 15 or lower to succeed and a 1 is a critical success.

As soon as they realize lower is better, I'll switch off to "odds fail, even succeeds". As soon as thet get that, I switch it. It can even come down to where the d20 lands on their character sheet, if they grab the right d20 in their pile of d20s, or if they did something that made me laugh.

Sometimes I totally ignore their roll and success or failure is based purely on comedic value.

I've ran a session where it was all based on storytelling. Nobody rolled dice the entire game.

I've also ran a session where I declaired that if anyone said the word "gun" that they automatically failed.

So yea, my system is "whatever is going to make them the most paranoid bad shit is about to happen."

Then again, that's Paranoia. ;-)

I should also mention that this is THE most popular game at our meetups. I have a waiting list of people waiting to play. Why? Because everyone is constantly laughing. LOL

Yea. Well. Bob is evil.

I rolled in Traveller to see if I succeeded in not injuring myself when the spaceship crashed. I failed horribly. I had a span of iron running through my body and I was bleeding out. Nobody helped, not even the doctor.

That character lasted 40 seconds from the game start.

Oh well, at least I got to see Dave play a lady that was travelling on the ship and he even wore a shawl over his head the entire session.

funny enough: we have a new member to our gaming group. so its him plus my 2 girls with me at DM.

he's made two sessions so far and its a perfect group. whats funny though is he told the girls that its so crazy and different gaming with girls. he's never done that. in fact, he said girls that game are like unicorns to him and his other gaming group.

unicorns..

the girls thought that was so funny.. i told him that's how i roll. i game with girls and i like it that way!

you know you want to roll a 20 sided die.

I've never actually "looked down" on people who play these types of games (I'm not even sure what to call them). Everyone's got something to totally nerd out over, so I can't really judge. I wouldn't object to trying it at least once, but it's not on my bucket list or anything.

It's "you know you want to roll a d6" damnit.

There's a few names for the type of gaming we do. Table-top, pen and paper, or just rpg.

If the opportunity ever comes up, do it. Depending on the person that runs it, it can be loads of fun.

I don't know a single person who does it/knows someone who does it. And my apathy keeps me from seeking someone who does it out.

So it's sort of like how you operate FreeOnes headquarters when your there in control of it. ;)

Yes I am. I'm also a nerd with 42dd tits that loves wearing corsets.

And I have...ummm...errr...and I have...nevermind.

Besides I don't think being called a nerd has been an actual insult since the mid 90s. Nerds have made many advances in recent history. :1orglaugh

I'm sure Anders can confirm...I really don't have a seperate persona for the board and for real life. I like fucking with people when I can get away with it. Makes me a particularly evil DM. :cthulhu:
