dungeons and dragons (D&D) anyone?

so. i went to this store earlier and as always (and yes i do it all the time) i had to check out those quarter machines where you can get toys and candy out of them.

jackpot!

zombie figures! perfect mini size too. i went home, made some bases out of black bake polymer clay and glued em on. for 50 cents a piece it was a nice little find. when i get some more quarters ima get some more.

Keep an eye on what mcdonald's is doin with their happy meals (burger king too). Sometimes you can get something and modify it with a little heat and paint.

no kidding. they look great for what they are. some are painted pretty good and some could use a coat. now, if i can find some other creatures.

a good thing in finding those zombies because i want to try to run ravenloft soon. im just looking for a 4e conversion. it appears it all starts off with a huge zombie migration. muwahaha!

I haven't kept up on d20 so I'm not sure if they've redone Ravenloft. However, here's the secret....I run D&D adventures (when I'm being a lazy and uncreative DM) in different systems. How do I do it? Most systems have their version of monster manual. Ravenloft has zombies? Find the undead in the new system's book. Ravenloft has a vampire? Find the vampire in your system's mm. Nothing similar? Make the stats up. Your players aren't privy to those anyways.

I'm writing up a one shot for Paranoia but instead of using the Paranoia system I'm using Savage Worlds because I'm running something a tad less slap stick this go around. Paranoia is deadly. So guns will probably do something like 6d10 damage. ;-)

I painted my mini for the D&D Encounters Session. She is a Drow Hexblade, and is going to support the mage and striker. She is supposed to be a striker but she is multiclassed as a Bard and doesnt wear armour and is the starpact blade. If I wanted to go pure striker I would have picked infernal pact hexblade. nm.

So it was really hard to get some decent pictures, I guess I am still not finished, maybe ommit some of the light and change some of the directions of the strokes so they actually make sense with the shadows. But I am pretty pleased with the representation of my character. Cost me a buck or two. I think the mini was $8 and then accessories came to $4. So $12 for one mini AND I had to paint it (which was fun, but I havent painted a mini in years)

thanks. i should run and get some more of those things. im out of polymer clay though. ive been making all sorts of little props. ill take some pics and post some soon.

For modelling see about getting green stuff. Its a two mix polymer, Its flexible. Also in the meantime I am going to recommend my favourite comic which I've been following for about a year now. http://www.oglaf.com/

The problem with that is one would have to be able to bear buying McDonalds food. (and a happy meal at that)

Most McDonalds will sell the toys separately. Or at least they did when I still worked there years ago.

Also, the GoodWill tends to have a big bin of kids meal toys for cheap.

Here´s a tip for you: dont annoy the DM...

Fridays game saw me getting knocked out for an hour, loose me mechanautic arm to a psycho surgeon, being pressganged in to working for the deranged ruler of the city, threatened with a goldfish (fish phobia) and being demoted to latrine duty...

All because we refused to take to hint that we should go for the open grate and then mouthing off to the armed guards arriving at the scene with the dead body and us standing over it...

Well.. I say we... it was mostly me...

On another note I got two more books to read through yesterday. I now am getting more reading material than I can keep up with, although the long weekend did help.

I got the Pathfinder book about the daemons. It's nice they try to make them as not as second fiddle to the demons and devils in their setting.
