That's what I meant by 'spinoff'. I'm familiar with the MC2 universe, and am very aware of Spider-Girl being without a doubt the most popular character out of that line of comics, but if I am not mistaken, the MC2 universe was essentially a spinoff/what if scenario of stuff going on during the mid-1990's. Like for instance the idea of Jessica Drew never having gained back her powers to become Spider-Woman. We know it's an alternate universe, and one that shouldnt really be considered a "possible future" since theres waaay too many continuity errors for that to happen.
I guess I can see why. It's a fun series to read. And not one that makes one want to quit Spider-Man comics altogether like this "Brand New Day" stuff.
Spider-Girl was actually part of an alternate universe in Marvel much like the Ultimate universe.

That whole Clone Saga left a bad taste in my mouth with Marvel comics and caused me to leave Marvel until the Ultimate line was introduced. The Ultimate Universe comics are the only Marvel comics I read these days (except I did read the Civil War story but that was it). I do know that Marvel has tried to cancel Spider-Girl several times but fans kept bringing it back.
