Do trophies really matter to you(PS3)

When the trophy idea started I really didn't care much for them and paid no attention to whether or not I was getting them or which ones I needed. But now i'm all about the trophies. Just curious what you guys think and post your trophy level.

No. The PS3 I'll play games that I wanna play and just for the fun of it. I have a 360 and I'm an achievement whore on there. I can't whore on both systems.

I like the trophies but , I'm like legz on that one I'm an achievement whore on the 360 but it doesn't matter to me as much on the ps3 , I really don't know why.

Sometimes, i like to try and get Platinums on the games that i like, but if ive got a game where i know for a fact i wont be getting platinum, i dont really care. Mirrors Edge is a perfect example of this, the trophies on that are insane! Anyway im Level 8 on the trophys, 500+ trophies cant remember the exact number, with 5 platinums

Trophies are cool, but it's the gameplay that matters to me most.
Well anyway, I'm lvl 9, 400 trophies, including 7 platinums.

I actually don't care about the trophies and don't even pay attention to them. I do find myself going after achievements though.

I must admit i do try and complete all trophies on every game i play.

I don't care about the trophies, but I do like to finish games I really like at a 100%. In which case I'll have to have every trophy, off course.

I forgot to mention that I have one platinum, from RE5, a friend wanted the platinum of RE5, and it's more fun playing as 2

Most likely just a matter of people liking what came first. They are essentially the same thing, but the X-Box was out first, so Achievements got more recognition.
