Do trophies really matter to you(PS3)

I do dig it when you get a multiple kill combo or a treasure etc and you see that trophy box in the top corner of the screen. Think Xbox achievement system was better tho even tho I sold my Xbox 2 years ago when I got PS3.

I like them just as long as they don't make them tedious like kill x amount of enemy using x weapon.

I'm sure there are some like that. Just like with the achievements on 360. Some are just to damn tedious to bother with. Unless you happen to like that weapon!

Trophies came out just late enough to make me not care so much about them.

if sony was smart enough to come out with them right from the start, i might have cared a little more.

as it stands, there's too many games that i played (i bought a ps3 when it first came out) that didn't support trophies ...so i don't really care.

i do care a little about the xbox achievements, tho. i don't try to get every achievement, but if it's not too hard or time consuming, i'll go for it.

on ps3 i think i'm around lvl 6 ...not sure the exact number of trophies.

on xbox i have around 13,500ish achievement points.

I have just under 44,000 in just over 3 years of owning the console.

I don't really take too much notice of it, but it is funny how it works (basically 14,000 GS earned each year). I don't actively hunt out easy 1000/1000 games, i've only had 4 or so completed games in that regard. Likewise with the arcade (200/200 titles), i've only got a few completed arcade games. The rest are 20 through to 160 or so per game.

I play games in the traditional sense, if i complete the storyline in a single player campaign i'm satisfied.... if i can gain other achievements by doing another play through, i'll attempt it (providing i enjoyed the game enough to want to play it again).

I love breaking achivements and getting many trophies as I can.
I'm level 5 with 153 trophies.

Im level 6 with 299 trophies and no platinum ones. After Im done with a campaign I usually trade it in or play the multiplayer. I dont go back just so I can get all the trophies....

I don't even know how trophies I have. They don't mean squat to me. I liked the ones in Deadspace and tried to get most of them but in most other games I just ignore them.

Same here. I'll glance through to see what they are. And try on my one and only playthrough. If I miss, I move on.

I tend to only be able to get 1 new game every 6 months or so. Trophies make the games last longer with something to work for than just playing them over and over with nothing to achieve.

Sometimes, i like to try and get Platinums on the games that i like, but if ive got a game where i know for a fact i wont be getting platinum, i dont really care. Mirrors Edge is a perfect example of this, the trophies on that are insane! Anyway im Level 8 on the trophys, 500+ trophies cant remember the exact number, with 5 platinums

good luck with that, another hard game to conquer the trophy list is SSF4 (Super Street Fighter 4), oh and Bayonetta is pretty tough, and FFXII and.....

I never care about trophies. I think it's for those people who are anal about their own achievements but to me, they don't really mean anything. If I have the time I can easily get most trophies out there but what good does that do for me except gawking from fellow hardcore gamers?
