Didn't see that one coming, a Christmas I'll never forget.

A while ago there was a thread on the largest Dutch forum about homosexuality. The topic starter started by saying that homosexuality is a defect and unnatural. The members of this forum are people from all walks of life, basically a cross section of Dutch society. There were a few people in the thread who are against homosexuality in general and it was very good to see how much flack they recieved. Even religious people chimed in saying they may not agree with how we live our lives but as long as it doesn't affect them they couldn't care less. That's how it is in Dutch society @ large, at least in our experience.

If you're asking if she's the manly one like you see with a lot of lesbian couples the answer is no. My girlfriend (I should now say fiancee) is as feminine as can be. She's all woman I'm a lesbian because I'm attracted to women. Not some half man, butch kind of woman

So last night we had a big Christmas dinner with both our families. My parents had arranged the whole thing and we all came together in a nearby bowling/party center. We were worried there might be some friction between some our family members because it's bound to happen not everyone is gonna like each other but luckly everone got along suprisingly well. There was a small stage in the room where we were and @ one point my girlfriend got on stage, took the microphone and asked me to join her. So i go over to her and she asks me to marry her in front of our families. I never saw it coming and it blew me away for a few second but I said yes. I'm getting married, whoohoo! :lovecoupl
