The math really doesn't hold up on your example. Rhetorically it sounds nice to some ears, but the reality is: The Pentagon paying for the wall and Mexico is paying for the blowback from the wall. In other words, we're both paying for it.

Think of this way: We're neighbors and my dog keeps running into your yard. You get upset, tell me you're going to build a fence, and that I will be paying for it. You build the fence, but I don't pay for it. I only pay to fix the damage in my own yard.

Honestly Chuck I have thought about it. Trump lied about Mexico paying for the wall and it's okay to admit it. All politicians - heck, all people probably - lie at some point about things small and large. I don't hold the wall lie against him. COVID - let's think about it.

Dems have done nothing about COVID? Dems haven't done enough, you are correct, but our fearless leader has done less. At a time to unite, he chose to divide. (That I will hold against him.) That reminds me of back some years when I used to go to the City Council meetings here. We had a new mayor who thought he had a very bright idea --- HEY! Why don't we incorporate / annex the unincorporated area of our city? The new mayor got smacked by the City Council with various reasons why that was not a good idea. The last Alderperson who commented went, "Why would we want to take on MORE area? We already don't know what to do with ... don't have the revenue to handle what we already have."

So in that same respect, if the entire USA is supposed to be infected with Covid-19, why would we want to import more targets ... more people to add to the problem?
