Dead Island

For the EMPEROR!!
No I hadn't seen that. Looked good. Maybe ask in the Games section. There's a lot of good gamers that might know about the game.

Interesting - the first previews seem to go back as far as 2006?

Maybe development was put on hold ...:dunno:

This seems to be an interesting game, I'll wait for the gameplay trailers before I'll judge it.

This is gonna be sic. Left 4 Dead meets Fallout. Level up RPG system with multiplayer capabilities and an open world, kill with anything you find style. The detail they put into the zombie beatings is awesome. You see their flesh fall off, arms break, skulls crack etc. Can't wait.

Just listened to the IGN movie podcast today and they were talking about that they were making a Dead Island movie, but it wasn't necessarily based on the game.Kind of a head scratcher.

According to ign's preview of the actual game, it sounds like a complete Left 4 Dead ripoff.

Serious. Somber. Disturbing. These are words I would use to describe Dead Island's amazing debut trailer.

You saw it, right?

Today I got to see about 15 minutes of Dead Island in action. What words would I use to describe the gameplay?

Silly. Wacky. Goofy.

Oh, and fun.

Dead Island is a first-person hack-and-slash game set in the midst of a zombie outbreak in a tropical paradise. It's more Dead Rising than Resident Evil, with a focus on action over suspense. The developers themselves say they're going for "zombie zombie zombie all the time." An abundance of makeshift weapons lying around like paddles, baseball bats, and wrenches – and the fact that these can be combined and upgraded – further reminds me of Dead Rising.

I'll probably give it a try still but come on! The trailer made it look like it was gonna be something special

Amazing game! The only RPG I've actually cared to finish and you get all your upgrades on the next playthrough. Give it a try.

Just read on Screenrant that Lionsgate has picked up the movie rights to the game.

I've played a few RPG games all the way through. I rather enjoy RPG's just never bother to put the time into em to finish. I also don't give a fuck about zombies. They are so cliche it's really quite pathetic.

I enjoyed this game because for some reason it kept my interest and wasn't to damn long. Only 25 hours to beat. The RPG aspect is what held my interest more than anything. I also enjoyed all the blood and gore, even though it wasn't as over the top as I'd have liked.
