I was going to buy this game , finally. But when I heard it was very buggy I didn't bother.
Has anyone had any serious problems with the game?

I have the 360 version and eventhough there are some visual glitches, it plays pretty smoothly. Second playthrough and I haven't had any serious problems.

i played this in one sitting for about 4 hours yesterday-
i like it but i'm starting to get bored-its very repetitive-
repetitive in the aspect of- i understand you need missions to keep the "game story-line" going but am i really wasting my time searching for someones teddy bear? someones necklace? i have to put MY neck on the line to find water and food for everyone else? it seems that my character is the only one doing something while everyone else waits instead of being proactive. AND that is what i find annoying.
in the TV show the Walking Dead they aren't all just sitting and waiting for one person to do all the work-it's a team effort or a group effort to get to the next step.
i understand its a game but just me having to kill all the zombies of a specific area is nonsense-other people need to help.
after those 4 hours last night i was seriously considering cutting my losses and just trading this game in because i was doing the same shit over and over.

I completed it seven times four times with Sam B and once with everyone else. But I had to get the fucking patch first though. Without the patch the game is FUCKED. The patch is needed in order to make it playable. They had better add the patch to the discs of all copies of the game from here on. This way it wont put potential buyers off of the game as much as it will just out of the box just now.

i got back to the lifeguard station to begin the trek into the jungle to get to the prison.....
i talk with jin and she gets into the armored truck. i go to repair my weapons and the game does the "get back to vehicle countdown" and then it says Mission Failed. it reloads from the GOD DAMN RESORT!!! i am 165meters away from the vehicle and the countdown starts again. there is no way i can get back to the vehicle! i shut down the system- hoping .... praying it would reload from the lifeguard station. NOPE!!
back at the resort. 165 meters away from the vehicle- i can't continue playing it wont get away from the resort.
FUCK THIS GAME! it gets traded in! i was really digging this game i am 3 weeks (or more) invested into this game now im fucked cause i cant get back to the vehicle!

i take it all back. i admit it...i made a mistake posting that too soon. i tried about 8 times and also turned off the system and reloaded 3 times- the 4th time i was in a room in a building and just had to get to a fast travel and go back to the lifeguard station.
i am very happy right now!
i really thought this game was lost!

finally finished it last night- 50hrs of game-play according to the stats screen!
thank god though- i began doing all the missions and side missions then i got frustrated when you would get to a place with 10-12 survivors and they would ask for some of the stupidest things for you to do! go to the police station to get a police report on a criminal who allegedly attacked a survivor's daughter-then after getting that-go to his house to get his gun so he can find said criminal to get revenge. UGH seriously? when the zombie apocalypse happens you need someone to get a police report for you to seek revenge?

Finally played it and after giving it about 3 hours of playtime I probably won't devote anymore time. After putting about 80 hours into Skyrim (still not even finished with the game yet) I'm kind of burnt out on "quest" games, especially when I'm in the middle of a zombie apocalypse on an island and people want me to go fetch the stupidest items for them. Fuck that shit, get your own god damn necklace!

i should have waited before hitting "post reply" dont even bother going forward if you are playing Skyrim i have to imagine that Skyrim is way more awesome than DI. my problem is that i dont have skyrim- i love the fallout franchise and after finishing FO3 i needed something to hold me over until a new Fallout was made- i tried oblivion and after maybe 8 hours of playing i got bored- so i know skyrim isnt for me. but Dead Island wasted 50 hours of my life. some good some bad.
