Comedy Anyone?

All American shows: "Everybody Loves Raymond", "That 70's Show", "'Til Death" (1st and 2nd seasons), "Rules of Engagement", "Married ... With Children", "Fresh Prince Bel-Air", "Roseanne", "How I Met Your Mother" (first few seasons until they fucked it up) , and of course "Friends" (duh).

Now I've realized we are talking movies, not shows. Don't remember any funny movies from any country at all ... other then "Bruce Almighty" and "Don't Be A Menace ... ", which did not age well for me.

Well, technically nobody was talking anything in this thread for ten years until you bumped it, so really you should feel free to talk about whatever you want.

Harsh. No country has ever produced a funny movie? I think we'll agree to disagree. Unless that's not what you meant.... I'm struggling.

Ah, Pryor. I laughed my balls off at See No Evil, Hear No Evil. And I definitely didn't watch it again to masturbate to Joan Severance. DEFINITELY not.

OK, maybe once.

When Python shows started becoming a hit in USA, there soon came a flood of British TV comedies. The only one that really caught on was Benny Hill. Still that couldn't hold a candle to Python. As the saying goes, everything is funny with Benny Hill music except Benny Hill. Fawlty Towers was a much better show but they made so few episodes. I guess that we were spoiled by Python and expected all British comedies to be as good. Never happened.

I remember watching an Irish comedy that someone brought over on tape that was hilarious but I can't remember the name or if it was ever broadcast in USA. It had to do with a group of priests that were sent to some remote place. I guess they were supposed to be running a parish but no one living there. Can anyone come up with the name of this series?

Father Ted. Definitely in my top 5.

Stiffy you are my hero. They have full episodes on Youtube. I can't give you rep but now but I will give you a handjob if we ever meet up. (anything more than that would be gay and I don't swing that way)

I'll settle for a nice cup of tea, Father.

My favourite bit of Ted ever was Mrs Doyle's special ingredient in the cakes at the beginning of s2e1 "Hell". And practically the whole of "Plague."

DON'T CALL ME LEN, I'M A BISHOP.
